He is right about the fuel truck issue's, not about filling them though.

The whole thing is odd. he handled the money, but doesn't have clue who Al Lee is? it's pretty easy to rip apart.

Going from memory, it was Al Lee who drove the car out to the airliner with the money and the parachutes in the trunk.  Tina met him at the bottom of the stairs and then made several trips carrying the four parachutes, the money bag, and a box, with the four (not six) meals and the IFR charts the crew would need, up to the cabin.  The crew never mentions anything about coffee or a 2.5 gallon coffee container.  And no one ever ate any of the four meals.  The dogs at Reno did that before searching the cabin.

There was no attempt to make a pre-flight inspection of the airliner since Cooper had insisted that nobody get close to the airliner except the fuel trucks and the person delivering the parachutes, money, etc..

The flight crew did not have walkie-talkie radios and Cooper never mentioned wanting a specific amount of fuel in any tank, he wanted all the tanks filled.

Shutter, do you know when this recording was made.  The mention of $250,000 suggests to me that this recording may have been made very recently.

Sounds like he's doing what Georger described, or put his own spin on it..

The coffee might of been for the agents, and he was told to get it..
I still think it's possible he sat in the hanger listening to this as he said, but put himself into the investigation. he had to of heard the things he said from somewhere, possibly over the radio and things stated over the decades gone by?

Maybe the NWA History people have a vita on this guy, and his role in the hijacking if any.

Im still wondering if they actually brought 250k to the airport - why would they do that if the demand was for 200k? Was the bank, FBI, NWA, etc that careless with cash? And some guy in the freight or maintenance dept is counting it out for the bank, NWA, the FBI, and for Cooper? We dont have the full story.

he also claims the chutes came from McChord, and the dummy chute was full of rags...

The Harrison notes show the stairs damage was only the side panels, nothing about any of the under carriage, or rollers....

Yes I heard that too!  ::)  Its this kind of thing that makes me wonder if he isn;t weaving a story based on anecdotes, some personal, some just things he heard. He might have been approaching the WSHM people as rank amateurs in need of a history lesson? If that's true then its kind of funny ...

The fact is McChord was contacted, was going to send chutes, but then cancelled leaving people to scramble for chutes. It sounds like he heard things and has weaved it all into a story he thinks makes sense (would make sense to raw amateurs asking for a history lesson).

He might be a nice guy to have a beer with and trade fishing stories -  ;)

That's why it could be possible he was listening in on the whole thing, and decades later he mixes things up without knowing what he did, but still possible he added a little juice to his involvement...

I'll bet somebody at NWAH knows or knew him ... well. Juice is the right word!  :))

That is crazy. People get a sit down talk with the Supervisor for things like that. Then at the end he says something like - and the 'real' FBI guy walked in ... and he describes his standard dress, tan coat, pressed trousers, serious demeanor ... I got a kick out of that. He's a colorful guy. His name "Loren" actually rings a bell but I cannot place it. There might have been an agent named Loren? It's bugging me.

I am still not convinced the name you gave me is the bank guy Ckret talked to so Im going to go search files again. The name is buried somewhere... needle in a haystack.

First, I obtained the FBI bill serial number list and established it in searchable text format, it is 9975 bills

Searched the 30 bill numbers marking the first/last in bundles to be excluded = not on list aka removed

From Georger's image of that Bill page, tried these numbers.

Searched the 2 red dot numbers = both on list aka not removed

Searched the yellow highlighted numbers = mixed results

L01781113A = on the list

the other 4 yellow highlighted = not on list

So, red dots on FBI amended list.

Yellow highlight 1 on list and 4 not on list. How can that be?

Just one, but my mind goes much faster than I can type/write..  so my posts may not clearly represent exactly what I think or am trying to express.

Are there any more of those FBI bill serial number pages with red dots or yellow highlights?

..
