I'm getting ready to run to the store, but I think I can show you before I leave...I'm also making a video to help decribe things better.

probably right, you would have to find out what type of insects would hang out in sand I guess?

The biota depends on the depth the money was at and the amount of oxygen available. If the money migrated it may have existed in several different biotas over time, for different amounts of time during in its history.  As Palmer believed, the money may have been in the UAL at Tina Bar for no more than a year or two after the flood at the end of '77 going into '78 .... the flood which ended the record breaking drought of 1977.

Here is a black & white photo looking on to Tina Bar from the helicopter. I believe the noticeable tree's can be found in the green circles on the right side of the photo. I don't think they are the circles on the left. you would see the tree/bush in the FBI dig photo (also provided) the red line could be Palmer ditch?

Again, the upper right hand corner of the aerial view shows what looks like a waterway with houses on the far side and buildings of one type or another, along with docks, on the near side.  Nothing like this exists at Tina Bar.

The smaller picture with the helicopter in it is the type of pictures I was referring to.

Did Palmer, or anyone else, do any digging on Caterpillar Island or on the Oregon side of the Columbia River?

No to the last ...

Shutter, you have the money find location as being North of the angled "berm", or whatever, which I have actually walked on.  As for parking cars, there is no area parallel to the "berm" (or blue line as you usually show it) where cars can be parked.  Instead, the agents cars would probably be parked in about the same place that Meyer and I parked our vehicles and that is on the road extending west from the north side of the long shed on the Fazio property.  From that location, it is an easy walk through the Tina Bar gate and past the containment pond.  And that still looks like a group of buildings parallel to the blue line to me.

Georger, a number of years ago, you worked up an excellent picture of the Tina Bar area which includes the pencil circles and a point you identified as the money find location.  That money find location you specified is within the pencil circles and just South of the Northern end of the containment pond.  And it is about half way between the Southern end of Shutter's green box and the Northern end of his red line.  Again, this is well South of the yellow pin.

I blew up your picture to the maximum un-distorted size that I could (12" by 17") and printed it out.  Meyer and I used this picture when we were at Tina Bar.  I personally gave quite a bit of thought to the possibility that the money could have landed higher up hill toward the containment pond and then eventually slid down closer to the water.  And I considered the possibility that the money could have moved from the berm (blue line) area upstream (to the South) slightly to the location given by Tom's GPS coordinates.  But that did not seem to be a real possibility.

In all honesty, the pictures of the trenches looks more like they were done at the Southern end of Caterpillar Island.

None of that is visible anymore. time has covered some of the things up. similar to the landscape changing on the beach. the angled path/road/feature is no longer there, and you wouldn't have seen it while being there. 1980/2010 is a big difference.

The stills are from video taken during the money find in 1980, not after. I doubt they would not realize they were on Caterpillar island, or flying by it with a video camera.

The angled path (or "berm") was there in July 2013 and clearly visible.  I have walked on it.  And Meyer and I did a lot of work immediately adjacent to it.

The only reason I state that is because I can't see it on the 2008 aerial, or today's Google. I could be wrong. you guys were there.

Please do and ask him to also comment on the placement of the yellow pin.  That pin is placed on one of the highest pieces of real estate in the immediate Tina Bar area.  I believe that the pin is shown in an area that is even higher than the Western wall of the containment pit.  And the Tina Bar regulars told Meyer and myself that the Columbia River had never been as high as the top of that Western wall.

Robert, I have no knowledge (zip) of any excavating on Caterpillar Island. Or on the Oregon side either -
