I would like to but Sheridan is like Tom Cruise. He insists on doing his own stunts. How can a 92 year old look like a Cooper half that age? Dunno. Maybe putty makeup?

I get this sense that Bobby is trying to buy up Cooper World like it is some huge game of Monopoly. Whatever space he lands on, he tries to buy it.

First it was KC, then it was Bryan Woodruff and the Ariel Fiesta. Next was an annual DB Cooper Bash at the Victor 23 Tavern in Vancouver. Now, it's Sheridan's book.

Oh, and don't forget all those offers he made to me a few years back of free editing and a great deal on publishing DB Cooper and the FBI. He's like a hustler, handling whatever merchandise he can get his hands on. Maybe we should call him Bobby Con.

Have been off for awhile - do you have a copy of Sheridan's book now?

Sheridan was actually quite a wordsmith, delighting in using obscure words that appear to be misspelled or misused but are not. Is there anything similar in Cooper's lexicon?

377
I did a brief study of Sheridan's lexicon last year to compare with the letters as well as with what is known of Cooper's on-board speech. Sheridan's vocab is excellent, and while there were definite misspellings, they could have as easily been typos (age and eyesight have me making a few of those these days, and I was an English teacher). There were also typos and misspellings in the Cooper letters, but I've never given those a lot of credence. Cooper was much better off with the feds thinking him dead. Not all felons are Zodiac, waggling their junk at the cops. But who knows? Has anyone been in touch with Petey of late?

Reca's taped "confessions" don't even have the details right:

Reca said that he wanted all used $20 - a request that wasn't fulfilled - and had gave messages to the cockpit through a stewardess.

Before jumping from the plane, he asked for two parachutes and for the wheels to be lowered to 'slow down the aircraft'.

He said that he requested two parachutes and opened one in the plane to ensure it worked properly before jumping.

Good work noting all that. We all know Cooper never requested any specific denomination. We also know he asked for 4 chutes, not 2, and that the dialogue reported here was reported by neither FA despite numerous interviews. ("I can't believe you're actually hijacking this airplaine".) Flo did ask if he was kidding and he said, "No, Miss."

Answer:  There are four specific items of testimony as to Cooper's money demand. I list them here IF I will not get a DATEBASE ERROR trying to copy text to this forum!

Here are the four versions:

Versions of money demand:
2310 – [Pilot Notes]    wants money in negotiable currency to be passed & a crew member  -

3:13pm [PI Transcript]  Wants money in negotiable American currency denomination of bills not important. –

Interview 11-30 Mucklow -  Mucklow then used a plain envelope to write out the demands of the hijacker, listing that he wanted four parachutes including two back packs and two chest packs, $200,000 in cash in small bills, and that he wanted everything by “by five o’clock”. Mucklow says that Florence Schaffner  delivered this note to the pilot’s compartment,…
He opened the bag and inspected the contents which Mucklow said she observed was money packed in small packages with bank-type bands around each package. Having inspected the money in a cursory fashion the hijacker stated that “it looks ok” and then indicated to Mucklow that the crew could now let the passengers deplane. She stated that she called the cockpit on the intercom with this message and an announcement was made from the cockpit that passengers could disembark…

Interview 11-24 Harold Anderson  - Mucklow received the impression that this hijacking was carefully planned and thought out in advance  in that the hijacker was even specifying that the money was to be furnished in a knapsack …

Interview of Mucklow 12/1-2 at her home in PA: - The hijacker later told Mucklow that he wanted $200,000 in circulated US currency, two back and two front parachutes, and fuel trucks to meet the plane when it landed.

So you will see that one version has Cooper asking for "small bills". Small bills goes to denomination, so Lynn you are wrong!

My god it worked!

The name is Frederick William Hahneman    You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Frederick William Hahneman was an established player in at least one airplane hijacking, and he may indeed resemble one of the sketches of Cooper. A number of people agree on that but  Hahneman has never received any status in forums due to the stronger lobbying of other suspect promoters. That may have been a mistake but there is nothing anyone can do to change the Cooper Vortex social media board.  There are some good photos of the guy floating around -

There has to be a thick evidence file on Frederick William Hahneman. Was there ever any lab work done to compare him with Cooper?

Hahneman was injured on the landing.

"Farmers in the area told government agents they saw a man sitting on the ground counting money before he disappeared into the countryside. Said the man's shoulder and hands were injured. They found harness and jumpsuit at that time. They thought the parachute may have been carried away by poor farmers. The man carried a back pack and a small suitcase and wiped sweat off his face with tissues. See prior post for the list of items he requested during the hijack. Agents said they found used tissues in the area. "

Attached is a sketch of him, before they knew who it was..just from witness descriptions

Back at DZ.com in 2008, we played the game of comparing the Hahneman sketch, to what he looked like in pictures...with the idea that seeing "how close to reality" might give ideas on how close to reality the Cooper sketch might be..
for instance, Orange1 said

"- basic face shape and lips seem right
- ears and hairline seem wrong
- what makes the sketch look so good? The glasses ... same issue as the Cooper sketches - the focus always seem to end up on very generic (at the time) spectacle styles which seems to take attention away from actual facial features. "
