Just showing the Penney's logo on the tag of a Towncraft shirt from the '60s.
So the question is, does the "funky P plus lowercase" logo definitely only show up in 1963

I believe EU is saying it's the "funky P plus lowercase" in the logo that's key?

Yes, that is correct as far as putting an "earliest" date on the tie of 1963.

That is not possible.

I suppose if Sheridan did own the tie, and didn't get it until 1964 or so,
it's possible he could have travelled out to see the ex-wife who would have still been in Richland most likely?

If there was a wife there, I'm wondering if that was the wife with 3 kids that he had 2 kids with, that moved to CA was it?
or was that a third wife?

If he had kids with her in Richland, I could see him travelling out there at least once, after he was in Seattle.

This is important.
I think your data on the PENNEY'S logo is wrong

I found a site and logo that says 1962

This would be important. if the tie is 61 or 62, then Sheridan can have it with Hanford site pollution

The web page says this about the logo
This logo was used in Penney's ads during 1962 and 1963.

attached

This isn't the logo that was on the tie. If you click on the link it's the version posted at the top which they say was to be formally introduced on November 24, 1963.

That is why I concluded 1964-1965..

This paragraph from Sheridan's book, does seem to say there were kids in the home that appears to be in Richland, WA (with an soon-to-be ex-wife)
But if kids could work, they'd be older? Maybe these were kids from wife's prior marriage.

A caseworker visited Grecco's home. She poked about in the kitchen and basement looking for hidden caches. She spoke with the neighbors. Was Grecco working? How about his wife? Did she have a part-time job? Did the kids work after school or on the weekends delivering papers or baby sitting? After that no one would associate with the Greccos. He was a leech, living off the hard earned dollars of the taxpayers. It was as though the family had some horrible disease, were outcasts, lepers. "The poor woman," they would say of Vince's wife. "Putting up with that useless bum. I'd throw him out in the street.

I believe the numbers like "3" is the price code.

Hugging an ex-wife from Richland near the Hanford site, post 1964, might get Palladium on your tie.
Like a venereal disease :)

Be nice to get the exact date of divorce filing/completed with that wife.

Given the amounts found on the tie could be due to time on the tie or possibly transfer....
