Ever hear the old give them an inch and they take a foot...Tina stood right beside Cooper....she would know if he was close to her height..going against this is not a good idea...he was taller than Tina..why can't anyone believe this?

According to the FBI be is 5' 8" that eleiminates him right there plus other things we probably don't know about....

C'mon "Probably don't know about" isn't good enough... there may be something but unless we know what it is, we can't eliminate on faith

The FBI's height was an initial suspect description...that doesn't mean it was accurate, even Cooper's was initially 5' 9"- 6'..

In pics with agents, he looks taller than 5' 8"...

Stack all the pieces that are consistent with Cooper..  and you hang on an unverifiable inch..
I would try verify his height with another source. The one photo just posted makes his ears look to big. I think that he was a good suspect but needs to be taller than Tina.

I have tried, still not conclusive but he is taller than or about equal to FBI agents escorting him... I always thought FBI agents were about 6' or there was a height minimum.

IMO, from pics he appears taller than 5' 8".. or all the FBI agents are really short.

Attempted to determine Hahneman's height from the pic..

The car he is next to is a late 60's Volvo 144, matched the angle to a full image of the same model to get the full roofline.

The Volvo model 144 is 56.7 inches in height.. using measurements and ratio's to compare Hahneman to the Volvo, he is about 6' tall. This isn't 100% accurate but puts him within Cooper's height range..

How do you know that Hahneman isn't taller than Tina, who is 5' 8".. the FBI height was an unverifiable early suspect description of 5' 8", if he is in fact 5' 8 3/4" does that eliminate him? What about shoes, is Hahneman 5' 9" in (Cooper's) shoes?

Way too close and unverified to eliminate when there are so many other similarities.

So, FBI had a 5' 7" (1972) minimum and in the pics he is taller or equal to most of them, that suggests he is being escorted by all the short FBI agents.. or he is taller than 5' 8".. in shoes..

IMO, this height thing doesn't eliminate him... not enough, need more facts even if he is 5' 8"ish

There may be something else that does eliminate him. We really need to know what that is...

I tend to follow the FBI to some extent...believe it or not they have a little more knowledge than we do..Tina would of certainly stated he was around her height if that was the case, but it's not..where do we stop with this? how do you know he didn't jump in California, or how do you know he wasn't really a female? when you try and think for the witness it's not going to work very well IMO. it's rearranging known facts to fit something else in it's place. I tell Blevins all the time that he opens the window for more suspects at 5' 8" and sure enough we have one..

In any investigation there are a set on known facts that can't be reasonably disputed, a foundation if you will. From there you move into reported fact, information provided by witnesses both actual observers and those related to the event by some circumstance. Combined with physical evidence, the three form investigative theory which hopefully was derived by careful analysis.

No matter how much someone wants to put DB Cooper's height at 5'8" will never change the fact he was reported to be 6'. You can certainly say it's so but you have to have articulable fact to support the dismissal of the witnesses credibility. But if you discredit the witness on one piece of her statement you may have to discredit all, you can't have it both ways.

The physical description I provided is a reported fact. No matter how much you would like to change it you simply can't throw it out and replace it with theoretical fact so it fits your suspect. If you do, your investigation is doomed to fail.

You need to provide proof that can dispute a witness account..you just can't claim anything different...

Meh, you miss the point entirely..

you don't know Hahneman's actual height. You are relying on a preliminary suspect description. WEAK.

I say, keep on looking. Hahneman is probably not Cooper and is probably not 6-foot, either, but he is an interesting suspect and worth the effort to learn more about him. Even if he is not Cooper, his CIA connections are worth exploring. Certainly his connection to the Honduran ambassador is intriguing.

For those quick to pounce and wag their fingers on CIA conspiracies, I am not saying that Hahneman's caper was a CIA op. Rather, he may have had leverage post-arrest because if his connections, as has been discussed previously. I would like to know more about that set of circumstances.

No, it's a statement from the FBI...until you prove different it's hard to dispute..they don't usually rely on bad data...

Alice 6' 1"  miles from 5' 8"
Tina  5' 10' - 6' not lower in height
Flo    6'

None of these are from a average height of that period...they are consistent...

I'm guessing if you look hard enough you could find dozens of Hahneman's and Duane Webers, or Petersen's just as they have found thousands of Cooper's...find his prison record..that gives his exact height..they take your height going in and coming out...even county jails have you in front of a measuring devise that is accurate when they take a photo..I don't think the FBI shot from the hip...

These are just my opinions...you can do what ever you wish, I'm not trying to stop you by any means..

most prison records are public and can be found through the state archives...Jo Weber claimed for years that the FBI wouldn't give her records on Duane while in prison at Jefferson....I got all his records, with a DVD mugshot for $4 pages and pages on him..

This is the first time I have stated this publicly..I decided back then not to make her look foolish..
