Defamation? No real proof has been verified...

All whatifs aside - this is an issue of what ifs - who would sue Blevins? Who would actually do it? Who would go through the gut wrenching years of hell and who has the money to actually sue the bastard?  What lawyer would even take the case? Who would spend the money? This is the grey zone Blevins and Gayla operate in. As a rule, tos violations don;t result in any money loss ... if it did Blev and Gayla would have shut down their farce long ago! Its advertising of a kind - it keeps their names alive. They are bottom feeders. And they claim to have a lawyer. Booby and Gayla have threatened to sue numerous people and got away with that!

It's fit fertilizer for the DB Cooper press!   :good post:

Booby and Gayler run away from things that are real: the police, the FBI, tos violation notices, legal notices, the Truth!. They would probably cut and run if a real lawsuit showed up. Their whole Cooper program is shadows and dust relying on suckers and hate and envy to continue ...  it's all FREE!   ;)

Their latest issue is supporting the Poor, they claim! Maybe tomorrow it will be kittens and the snowshoe rabbit?

Blevins and Gayla are operating on two levels at once. One minute they claim this is "real" (the whole Kenny-Geestman case), then when confronted by facts and the threat of real legal action, they back off claiming this is all a "what if". The whole Decoded program was conducted on that basis. The Geestmans and "That Woman" were powerless to do anything. All the power was on the side of Nat Geo and their Producer, and Blevins and Gayla. After the program the socalled sleuths cut and ran - they wouldnt even reply to emails! The whole thing was a scam.

7-8 years later we are still having to deal with it! That's amazing.

These kinds suits are expensive, and no lawyer in their right mind would take this particular one on a contingency. Also what are the provable damages? With a deceased person, you cant argue that the criminal accusations in a publication harmed their employment prospects. You also have to look at the ability of a defendant to pay a damages award. A big judgment means nothing if the defendant is unable to pay it.

As I said, this whole thing in in the "grey zone" - and Blevins knows it (hopes it is!) - so far he is right.

Kenny as a suspect falls in the grey zone - he was never proven to be a viable suspect by anybody! Gray milked it to write an article and after that it was a Dead Issue until Blevins and Keny's brother resurrected it.

The whole thing relies on public gullibility - like some claims of cancer cures.

Why would KC, an NWA flight crew member, pick an NWA plane to skyjack?

Why would Rackstraw, who allegedly had his accomplices toss 50K out of a small plane over Vancouver Lake to convince searchers that DBC died, later write letters to newspapers containing clues to his ID?

Why would Duane Weber use a well known prior alias to check into a Portland hotel right before the skyjack?

Paraphrasing Safecrackin PLF, apply the filter of logic and see what makes it through.

Question -- probably for 377 or any other lawyer or anyone who stayed in a Holiday Inn Express:

One of the things Blevins had said was his movie was going to say Kenny was the hijacker -- and they were going to say Bernie Geestman was his accomplice.  I thought they'd never use the real name of a living person in a movie, especially accusing someone of a felony.  Now that Bernie is dead, does that change anything?  Or is the risk of lawsuit the same?

Funny, as I read this I am sitting in my room in a Holiday Inn Express. Sadly, I can't answer the question.

It's amazing how some of these witnesses have better memories than the one's who were actually involved..they talk like it happened yesterday....I have a good memory, but I can't remember a lot of detail..I remember back as far as 3 years old due to a double hernia...I still have a lot of memories from the event...being in the hospital..getting my temperature (you know where) watching for my dad to show up looking out the window..watching cartoons films, trying to stand up several days after coming home...lots of small little things...this was a tragic event, so it's a little different...I can't believe someone 13 years old walking into a shed and being told to leave and remembering (in detail) what was going on and tell this 40 plus years later...nope, not buying it for a second..

My favorite one on the DZ was when he said that they knew that Kenny had a suntan at the time of the hijacking, lol. Only a stupid person would be so gullible.

Lets see...

Kenny did the hijacking because of all the strikes...he gets the money and stays for decades with a job he hated. I guess he stayed not to draw attention since he looks so much like Cooper

Rackstraw appears to be upset that his military career took a dive..as 377 mentioned, he tried to make it look like he drowned but it failed, so he wrote a letter taunting them... :chr2:

Weber gave up trying to get away with petty crimes and "jumped' right into the hijacking with success...his background makes perfect sense...worked at area 51, most likely was in the grassy knoll, knew every suspect that comes into play, was a CIA operative, built radio towers, paved the first 100 miles of route 66, BBQ grills were named after him, did the engineering on parting of the seas, was a well known and respected parachute rigger, knows exactly what happened to Hoffa, Earhart, and Waldo

HE WAS.....THE MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD..... :bravo:

LOL... but Shutter you forgot to credit Duane with the first wearable tech, which is now red hot and the focus of much R&D spending.

Duane's vibrating VOR sensing corset was fully operational decades before Google and Apple saw the light.

I believe Weber accomplished many goals in the military serving only a few months..Army enlistment..I think he had 2 or 3 stars, demolition expert, paratrooper, chemical warfare expert, special ops, just to name a few...don't get me started on his Naval career..

Almost forgot, in his couple months of service, they sent him to Africa for desert training...this gave him the advantage to know how to dig up the sand on T-bar... C:-)

Yes. Kenny was tanned because he spent a lot of time in Japan.  You know that November sun in Japan is quite harsh.

Haha, I stand behind the sarcasm in this comment. Japan in November isn't that different from Vancouver in November - overcast and chilly. The rainy season is in spring, though. UNLESS he stayed primarily in Okinawa, but most ppl who go there specify that, as it's very different from the rest of Japan. It's the tropical island - in November, though, I think the temperature is usually mid-twenties, not ideal for tanning. I can't even believe people are still talking about KC as a suspect. Or Weber. Or Rackstraw. NOTHING anyone has said about any of them has been remotely convincing. It's sad when other media use them as sources.
