So how did Kenny amass his stamp and coin collection? I understand that RMB has down-graded it from 300K to 30K.

mail order..you know, like the Russian brides  who would purchase expensive collectibles without verifying them first  O0

But where did the money come from?

from the hijacking....this was part of his big top 20 reason Kenny was Cooper...

Actually, the movie is called "without a paddle"

Twelve years after graduating from high school, three friends, Jerry, Dan, and Tom, find out that their childhood friend Billy has died in a parasailing accident. After the funeral, they revisit the group's old tree-house and find a map leading to D. B. Cooper's lost treasure, which Billy had apparently been working on for his entire life. Dan takes a break from his job as a doctor and joins Jerry and Tom on a camping trip to find the treasure.

Terrible. Matthew Lillard is in it. Guaranteed flop.

In it, Cooper burned half of his money for warmth in a cave or something. Something about Burt Reynolds being his partner or something...

I actually liked the movie Bruce. I thought it was very funny. I wouldn't watch it for the DB Cooper content alone, but if you want a good laugh, it's worth a watch.

I've always had a theory about the stamp collection and the "hiding spot" found in Kenny's attic. If this actually were for the purpose of hiding something, doesn't it make sense that it could be for the stamp / coin collection? We know that Kenny had some troubled boys in his house at times, so I figure that it stands to reason that he would want to put his collection in a spot that was safe. And it was right above his bedroom at that.

Was it a hiding spot? I doubt it.

But if it was, it makes more sense that it was for hiding something that WE KNOW he had and had reason to hide, than to be used for something that he never had.

The wood got in the attic after the demo of the interior of the house..why would he laminate an  extra piece? It got up there after they took the countertop apart.

This was born through Television hype.,

I agree Shutter. I don’t think it was used for a hiding spot either. I just think it’s funny that those who do (or the one person that does) thinks it has to be for Cooper money when there is a much more logical item. That’s all. That Decoded episode represents one hour of my life I can never get back!

The most fascinating aspect of this whole skyjacking is the fact that Cooper allowed an entire plane full of passengers to get a glimpse of him.  Yes, most people didn’t notice the guy sitting in the back of the plane.  But several did.  So did employees in the airport.  why didn’t Cooper put the sunglasses on at the start of the flight?  Why let Flo see his eyes at all?  Why board the plane second-to-last and walk past all the other passengers?   Doesn’t make sense. ...  I think he was wearing a disguise.  His black hair was recently dyed (recently dyed hair is very shiny, especially black pigment) and his “piercing” brown eyes were the result of contacts lenses.  Perhaps, the turkey gobble under his chin was putty make-up to throw everyone off, like a fake scar.  And I believe he wore make-up to possibly darken his skin.
No same person would have allowed so many eyewitnesses unless he was planning to leave the country immediately.
The FBI should have had female agents interview the stewardesses.  They didn’t ask them the right questions. A woman would know what NEWLY dyed hair looks like.  I
would also ask if the skin on his hands was the same pigment as his face and neck.  Also, was he wearing a suit jacket or just the raincoat over the white shirt?  Expensive suit or ill-fitting cheap one?  More likely a woman would remember if Cooper was well-dressed rather than if his slacks were brown or black.

An alternative explanation for DB Cooper allowing everyone to see him - some for hours: Cooper may have come from and returned to a place that few people go to, so social contact would be minimal or controlled. I had a long talk with Un Sherlock last night about this.

Could Cooper have been a gypsy and returned to a Roma encampment, where is was swallowed up by his family and friends and not betrayed?

Or an Indian Reservation? In my experience places like the Taos rez, or Hopi are very closed places.

Or a military base, like Fort Bragg? Especially where no one asks questions of people of rank.

Or a place that was filled with isolated, eccentric live-off-the-land folks, like Ted Kaczynski and his home of Lincoln, Montana?

Or a sailboat and a sailor who just roams the seas. There are folks who spend very little time on land. Netflix has a wonderful docu on a 16-year old Aussie who just sails the seas and loves the months away from land and people.

Or a homeless guy on the street. Homeless guys are invisible, and it doesn't take too long to look street-y.
