.. I don't know much about Burnworth or Braden, but am hoping I can find out more when I get Bruce's book next week....

I spoke with Don Burnworth on several occasions. He had a soft, mid-western tone to his voice. No regional accent, no distinctive phrases that I recall. To me, he was a straight-forward guy who had a really had a messy love life.

Yeah, per this video, can't eliminate Gossett by voice, either. I wouldn't be able to pin his accent.

LOL - I had a little fun today with an online, very rudimentary Language Style matching site. I entered all the text I could find from Sheridan online (tons), a transcription of the Gossett paranormal program, and the (very limited) direct quotes I could find from Burnworth. The results were average/above average for ALL of them compared with Letter 5. From the site: "To give you an idea, most LSM scores for general writing samples range between .60 and .90, with the average being around .78. The more the authors of the two samples are thinking in similar ways, the higher the LSM."

Sheridan got a .76, Gossett a .78, and Burnworth a .81. (I had only a short paragraph's worth of quotes from him, though.)

Direct quotes from Cooper from Tina and Flo's statements compared against Letter 5 get a 0.83. Against 10 pages of Sheridan's writing and speech samples they get 0.79. Against the Gossett transcription (several paragraphs), they get a 0.91. Against Burnworth they get 0.77. And against my own comments on this site, they get 0.82, so unfortunately this software is a piece of crap. I KNOW I was napping at my Mommy's insistence during that skyjacking. Yes - the way it presented on Google when I looked for a program like that is that its target audience is people playing "s/he loves me/loves me not" and/or determining compatibility. They state up front it's a developing science. Still, I'd never have guessed me for a skyjacker. (I prefer "skyjacktress"). I was too lazy to look for another such free program, but there may be some out there.  I may play with it again if/when I have more direct quotes/writing samples of various suspects to work with. I am curious about this kind of technology overall, as it's been used to spot plagiarism - whether conscious or unconscious - among very established authors.

Let us know how this works out. From my former life in Ed Psych Measurement I know people who work in linguistic forensics. These people are usually found in English Departments and rub shoulder with people in Classics.  The Classics people are constantly asking the forensic people to compare old manuscripts looking for overlap - who wrote this vs that etc. Keep us posted on this if you remember ... 

Sheridan Peterson is, by his own admission, a compelling DBC candidate based on skills and experience. His eyes, however, are the bluest you will ever see. He has no criminal record (other than a bogus arrest while doing civil rights work in the South) and abhors violence. When Sheridan was broke he'd always find a job, not resort to crime. I can't see him threatening to blow up an innocent crew just to get money. He has a very distinctive way of speaking which is obvious in the Case Closed interview. In his 90s, he is mentally sharp, articulate, very up to date on current affairs, fit and good looking. He would solo skydive today if any DZ would allow it. He has plenty of grudges relating to horrible atrocities he witnessed during his time in Nam. He worked at Boeing in Tech Documents, was a Smoke Jumper, Expert (D License) skydiver and USPA rated instructor. He also knew USFS Smoke Jumpers working for Air America in Nam. Could he be DB Cooper? Sure, but he'd have to have been wearing brown contacts. His eyes aren't just blue, they are piercing blue. A witness would be very unlikely to have seen those eyes and called them brown.

Yes, I was looking at him for a while mainly due to his skills and slightly open-ended alibi - HOWEVER - the contacts I could fly with, even a toupee, as I've missed those things myself to an embarrassing degree (didn't know either Don Knotts or Wojo wore toupees, that's how oblivious I am) but Sheridan's voice, to me at least, is very distinctive, and DB's by the FA's accounts wasn't. Apart from his brave acts for others (his defense of refugees in Vietnam being one), that voice is ultimately my biggest strike against him as a suspect. (I know he's moved about a bit in his life so I'm not sure what US region that particular accent originates in - it's why I thought that was his voice on the Bubbleator video. It reminds me of John Wayne slightly, but even that's not it. You Yanks would know better; it's not an inflection I've ever heard before.)

Character-wise, I don't know the man but while he does have DBC's nice mannerisms and is clearly well-educated and spoken, he does read as someone who would only commit a crime for a cause (as he did in what I'm assuming was the March Against Fear), not for monetary gain. He is also a person I wouldn't expect to have been unemployed for long, except by choice.  He's been very open with his life on the Internet, and I can say the more I've read by/of him, the more I admire him. He seems to have more energy today than I had even in my youth!

Wish me luck -I'm currently down the Gossett rabbit-hole. So far he seems fascinating but in a somewhat less admirable way! Entertaining though, gotta hand it to him. As mentioned before, I'm not at all on board with KC as a suspect, and in the same way that you cannot imagine someone not noticing the blue of Sheridan's eyes, I am not buying that the FAs could have missed ANY kind of aging makeup. That's one thing I DO know a crap-ton about, and there's no missing it at close quarters. Even if you were blind, you could SMELL it! So Shifty Bobby Rackstraw is out for me.

I love Wolfie. I wish people would research him more - not as a suspect in Norjak, but just to find out more about the man.

He was a super-trooper in the military. Then he developed a radio show that specializes in the paranormal. He exorcised ghosts and got on TV. Then he got a commendation from the FBI for his help in locating missing people, then assisted in extracting folks from some guru's hidey-hole.

Then he ended up living alone on the coast of Oregon and gambling compulsively until the end of his life.

Oh, and he had a ton o' wives...

Don't you want to know more about this guy - what made him tick? And what his was like as a dad? The docu on his life would make a great Netflix special.

Same with Kenny C. What did he do in Tokyo at night? What does any gay guy do on his lay-overs? The FAs I know develop special interests - it's a second life. The current fav for FAs is to become a day-trader or a commodities trader. I keep bugging RMB to investigate the other criminal activities KC could have gotten into that could have made him a ton o' money. Diamonds? Smuggling, laundering money?

I just heard an interesting interview with Dave Chappelle, who said that he got his big start in comedy as a kid in a club run by drug dealers who paid him exorbitantly (25K a week) as a way to launder money. He talked about how scared he was riding the subway home to Brooklyn with 25 K in cash in his back pack when he was 16.
