I owe Sheridan $20 and will pay up. I was sooooo damned sure I'd win that election bet. Turns out (as Sheridan tried to tell me) that I was just another ostrich liberal who didn't see the real picture: millions of pissed off disenfranchised white men who hated Hillary with a passion.

Sheridan may export himself. He sees a nightmare living under Trump. I know a way he could save the plane fare, but no scheduled carriers fly 727s any more and Cooper Vanes are installed on all MD 80s and their Boeing cousins. A side exit from a jet that doesn't have a T tail is just too damned risky.

I hope I look as good and think as clearly as Sheridan does when I am 90.

377

My $20 went in the mail today. Sheridan and I have been exchanging some very sweet, pithy emails. He wants me to join him and head south o' da border and prepare for guerrilla warfare in the wake of a Trump dictatorship. I told him I prefer fighting here in ol' Cooper Country, but if I get tired of the rain and chilly weather, I might join him for a spell, so I asked him to be sure he sends me a postcard once he's selected a spot in the jungle/mountains/etc.

I also asked him not to get too cranky and really piss off the locals. I know I can find him once I arrive simply by asking the folks I meet where the craziest Gringo that they've ever met is hiding out. I figure I should find ol' Petey in a few hours at most...

His last words in his email this afternoon was a reminder to himself to "think young and take action." Good advice, I say. For those who would like to know a little more on how I feel about our current political situation, I will be writing up a missive for the Mountain News-WA in the next few days.

... I know some of you are curious about Jim Shell... he has always been of great interest to me especially his role in the t-bar money plant.

And I have great interest in how you, or Jim, explain the thousands of shards buried at three feet down in the sand.

Answer:  several dredgings and spreadings of the sand.  The Columbia River dredge tore up the money bag as the dredge pulled it from the bottom of the River, at Tina Bar.  But the money bag didn't get completely tore up.  A small chunk of the bag, say 5-6 packets, got tossed up on the shore.  Three packets stayed in tact and 2 or more packets got thrown out a ways into the sand.  Along came the backhoe/grader to level out the sand.  The blade of the backhoe/grader catches the two+ packets, tears them up, and disperses them about in the sand, thus creating the fragments or shards.  The three intact packets escape and are not touched by the blade.  No one notices that any of this has occurred -- there was enough sand in the area to cover up any view of any of the money -- shards or packets.  More dredging and spreading of the sand occurred, several layers, several feet.  The three intact packets get covered by more sand, thus avoiding being torn to bits by the backhoe/blade.  They stay in tact.  Later, there is a need for a big scoop of the sand to fill a hole (a little "sand hole" created by the spreading and moving of the sand), which happens to be near where the money fragments are buried.  The backhoe gets a big scoop of sand, which happens to have the 3 packets of money, in tact, and dumps that big scoop of sand directly on top of the money fragments.  And there you have it....shards and fragments of money buried several feet beneath the 3 intact packets of money.
I will respond to this in the "Tina Bar Money Find" thread.

Something I want to talk to the Fazio brothers about the next time I go to Tina Bar.  Have the Fazio's paid for dredging out of their own pockets -- to build up the shore on or right next to their property --due to erosion?  I tried to stop in at the Fazio office in August to talk to them about this and other matters on my mind, but no one was in.

Also, I don't know if my eyes were deceiving me, but it seemed like a lot of sand got built up (trucked in, or maybe dredged in) at the upper edge of their property, up higher, overlooking the Columbia River.  Seemed like an unusually high volume of sand was there, more than I've noticed before.  This may be a silly question....since they are a sand business, and sand businesses need sand, so no doubt they bring some (or a lot) in.  I am wondering if any of it is brought up from the shore of Columbia River below.

If so, if it's in R99's new landing zone, and if any digging has been going on in that section of the beach or property, then it may have compromised any evidence that might be there.  The Travel Channel shoot in August was about searching R99's landing zone -- bounded by the River, Lower River Road, money find location, and Catepillar Island.  If sand has been moved around or brought in or dredged in, then that would change the landscape.

I also noticed that the map R99 brought to the Travel Channel shoot at Tina Bar was not the same as what was actually there.  More sand, less trees -- it looked like a whole stand of trees had been removed and, in turn, replaced by sand, maybe lots of sand.  I may be wrong, but that was my observation.  Maybe that's the Fazio's just bringing in more sand for the business.  My fear is that any evidence that might have been there either got buried deeper, got moved, or got removed.  I sure hope not.  I may be all wet here, but that's what I noticed.

Petey is leaving town.

Norjak's "perfect suspect," Sheridan Peterson, has announced he is leaving his home in Santa Rosa. The reasons may be many, including finances, but the election of Mr. Trump certainly sealed the deal. Petey has indicated to me that he is basically heading to the hills south of da border to await further developments.

His strong political feelings are known to most of us, and for those who may be interested in viewing the larger context of Petey's action vis-Ă -vis the election protests, you can read my piece on the subject at the Mountain News.

Exactly where does Peterson want to move to?  Based on my own investigations, portions of Costa Rica and Belize are quite nice.  But I have to get my passport renewed as fast as possible.  Hopefully, Trump won't cancel Christmas in the meantime.

He will allow Xmas. But all gifts must be purchased through him ... at a 500% increase in price. A bottle of Trump ketchup just went up to $500. The joke is on the voter. Pretty funny - eh?  >:D  Can Canada and Mexico handle the refugees?

Not sure exactly. You might want to ask Petey directly, as I believe he has Facebook and Twitter accounts.

I do know it won't be Mexico, as Petey told me he thinks that Trump will nuke Mexico. I've suggested Costa Rica, too. Or Ecuador. For me, I'm interested in a part-time, temporary visitor-type of arrangement just to dry out and warm up before I head back to the battle lines. If I have to get out of Dodge on a more serious basis, I'd like to go legally with a permanent visa, and entrance requirements for US citizens on social security are lower in Ecuador. CR is kind of high: $2,500 a month income, buy a $200,000 home in cash, or start a business with significant equity - I forget how much - $500,000 I think. Ecuador is $1,200 I think.

But my Plan A is to stay here and be part of the resistance. BTW: I've already been turned down twice by the Canucks. Sigh. And I played ice hockey in college, too! BTW II - a woman was involved in the second denial. Email for details...

Petey's back in the news

I received a head's up from Petey today about his latest posting in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. His letter to the editor is as follows:

A long time coming

EDITOR: The collapse of the Roman Empire didn’t begin with Caligula. And the same can be said about the American Republic.

It didn’t begin with Donald Trump. It began a long time ago with the Vietnam War and the massacre of 3.5 million Vietnamese. There was Watergate and the impeachment of Richard Nixon; Ronald Reagan selling missiles to Iran and using the cash to arm the Contras; George W. Bush and Dick Cheney’s invasion of Iraq and thus the enrichment of Halliburton; the tea party and Sarah Palin; and finally the stonewalling of the appointment of a moderate U.S. Supreme Court justice.

Yes, Trump has been a long time coming. He is the culmination of all this, and his rule will be brutal and unsparing. Yes, and as an afterthought, there is the nuclear button. One of his usual tantrums, and sayonara.

Petey and Rackstraw connection!

Petey just told me that he was in charge of Bell Helicopter operations at Meribad Airport in Teheran just before the Revolution. Airborne Bob was there, too!!!

You can't make this stuff up. Or can you?

Rackstraw Update

Tom Colbert said Bill Mitchell had identified Robert Rackstraw as DB Cooper, last Sunday, Nov 13, on Coast to Coast AM radio with host Richard Syrett. Colbert spoke definitively, and Syrett replied, "Bingo!"

I have spent all week trying to get through to C2C, Syrett, his producers, etc., to no avail to challenge this assertion.

I believe that Bill Mitchell looked at the photos in front of him. He pointed to Rackstraw and said that it was McCoy. It was also on the History Channel show. They are saying that since Bill pointed out Rackstraw and said McCoy, Mitchell subconsciously remembers the person he pointed to being involved with the hijacking.
