An article from Popular Mechanics on the recent Zodiac Killer cipher solve:

Since R99 has a difficult time with this, let me be clear:

1. I had NOTHING to do with this solving this code.
2. The solution has been verified by law enforcement including the FBI.
3. The Zodiac Killer remains on the loose, and the case remains unsolved.

(Truth be told, I love when R99 argues that the codes have NOT been solved, because it utterly discredits him as an objective mind. If you are going to listen to him as a voice about the Western Flight Path, just remember that he also thinks that none of the Zodiac ciphers (including one that was solved back in 1969) have truly been solved.

It's like listening to someone who thinks the moon landing was faked talk about the 2020 election.

My dear Chaucer, before you can even start to solve any of the Zodiac ciphers you have to determine what constitutes those ciphers.  You and your friends have simply not done so.  You haven't taken that first step yet despite your claims that the FBI, or at least one or two FBI agents, have agreed with you.

Why is there such confidence these ciphers will even lead anywhere?  Is this not from the killer to perhaps send the cops on a wild goose chase?  Do you think he would actually give the information needed to bust him?  Or did he figure perhaps by the time they figured it out, he would be dead anyway?  Like I have stated, I watched the movie on the subject once.  But I have not followed the details like I have lets say the Kennedy assassination, which I have followed in great depth.  And to an extent the Ripper killings in London and the Jon Bonet madness.  The Zodiac case is very involved as are those I have mentioned but they are not as easily found, the info on it.

Well Im not sure who you  are attacking above, but the other poster, Robert  something says you have not stated what the  ciphers originate from would be my take on it in a nutshell? Maybe I do not know enough info to comment on it, I would stand guilty of that.  I  no longer remember the names of the major players in the case.  Obviously there is no clear resolution on the case but I do believe they have some very strong suspects?  I do not remember the names.  Like in the Cooper case, there are some in the law enforcement area that have their own strong opinions on who the Zodiac was or is.  To my memory, they do believe he is now deceased.  No more murders have ever taken place in recent times, and if he were alive you can bet your last dollar he would want his ID all over it. So these famous cases, Zodiac, DB Cooper, Jon Bonet, Jack The Ripper, Black Dahlia, The Lindburgh kidnapping, and on and on, have a way of sucking us in.  Add JFK and Alcatraz to the list.  Pick your poison.  All of these cases are old, and pretty much unsolved and open to tremendous debate.

I dont really know anyone here.  Bruce is the one I have shared the most with and the one that pretty much welcomed me here to the hunt for DB.  A fruitless undertaking it sure seems.  He is from the East so he knows a few places I have been.  I have never been to Portland and likely never will because of the crime I have heard about recently.  Its not a place high on my bucket list for sure.  But I sure would like to see maybe Tena Bar or Seattle.  Or the wooded area's they suspect Cooper may have landed in like Ariel?   But I am far more likely to return to CA.  I love it there.  So Cal to be more precise.  I did not see much of SF, but Napa Valley I would love to visit.  I like the wine from there and France more than anywhere else.  Well lets hope some developments surface on Cooper soon.  The window of him being alive is closing.  if he is someone other than on the suspect list?  I still do not rule out Richard McCoy.  He is the only one that I believe could have been Cooper.  I say no to Rackstraw who was an attention seeker.   McCoy's face fit the composite as did Sheridan and Christianson.  But what they have used as arguments to rule out old Richard to me are the weakest.  It could have been Richard but its likely we have no idea who he really was.

Mark Zaid is Back in the News:

Mark Zaid, Thomas J Colbert's attorney who famously sued the FBI over its failure to pursue and indict Robert Rackstraw for the DB Cooper heist, is back in the news. This time, Zaid is again suing the Bureau, but in support of Micky Dolenz of the Monkees. The following is from MSN today:
_______________

A lawsuit filed by Dolenz, the last surviving member of the band, noted the performer had “exhausted all necessary required administrative remedies” after submitting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to receive the files from the FBI.

Portions of an FBI file on the “I’m a Believer” singers were released in 2011 and included references to anti-Vietnam War rhetoric and “subliminal messages” depicted on a screen at a 1967 Monkees concert that an informant claimed featured “left wing innovations of a political nature.”

The FBI was known to keep tabs on several famous faces during the 1960s and 1970s under then-Director J. Edgar Hoover, including anti-war musicians such as John Lennon and John Denver, among others.

Dolenz’s attorney, Mark Zaid, told Rolling Stone that the 77-year-old entertainer and the last surviving member of the band had originally submitted a FOIA request in June to obtain the full file from the FBI. The lawsuit was brought after the FBI failed to follow through with the FOIA request within 20 working days, as is legally required, Zaid told the music publication.

Zaid wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that he has been a Monkees fan since the early 1970s, calling it a “pleasure to be representing” Dolenz.

“Why was the FBI monitoring the band back in the late 1960s? We will find out!” Zaid said.

Interesting. I may catch some heat for this, but I like the Monkees a lot more that I do the Beatles. There, I said it.

I have not been emailing you Bruce. It’s very unlikely my email has been hacked. It’s probably a spoof job. Forward a copy of what you received to my ham radio email which is You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. I’ll figure out what’s going on.

Hope you are doing well.
