I stand by my comments that I thought Dan did a good job with the video and I really enjoyed it. But damn, things have taken a nasty turn. It's unfortunate that it's turned out like this. I'm not sure what Dan expected??

I think people are confused now with these podcasts and video channels. They don't know how to dial them in.

Exactly what is he? I thought his video was wonderful, and his interviews with Chante and Little Richard unique. Has he proved who DBC is? Nope. Is he a huckster? Kinda.

Well, it was presumptuous of me to assume everyone thought the same as me. That said, he always struck me as a bit of a showman and to use your word a "huckster". All sizzle, no steak. And the sizzle isn't even sizzle, it's just him making noises with his mouth while no one is looking.

Dan Gryder's nastiness is certainly coming forward. He's less a reflection of Jo Weber and a lot more like Robert Belvins, a convicted felon, btw: robbery and gun charges.

Darren, I applaud you for insisting on Juan Browne taking down the Vortex logo. However, I think it originated with Dan, because I saw it on Dan's video, too.

Yup. Gryder's lack of corroboration is startling. One would think that a fellow who is trained to check everything on a parachute before he jumps would also check his facts before he jumps into the Vortex, or at least before he posts on the Internet.

This is one of the problems with people who function as a journalist but claim that they are not a journalist. All elements of journalistic integrity and accompanying safeguards, such as editors, go out the window. Dan Gryden appears to be a guy who is not used to having people stand up to him or challenge his decision-making. It looks like he's gonna get a serious life-lesson in the days ahead of him.

Update on Dan Gryder and the McCoy Family Confessions

I am endeavoring to speak with Dan, Chante and Rick. So far, they are all dodging my phone calls and emails. In fact, Dan took down his email that he had been using to contact folks in Cooper World.

Ironically, Dan stated in his video that he would be going "dark" after posting it and not seek any fame or media contact. I find it hard to understand why he would want to walk away from "solving" a fifty-year old case that has everyone else stumped.

Maybe it's an unconscious recognition that his sources for McCoy-is-DB Cooper are weak - just an acknowledgement from two family members. Maybe that is why he didn't seek any corroboration, nor read any books - like mine - which outline a lot of the problems with a McCoy-Cooper connection.

I had the same reaction to Dan's video as I did to some of these other suspect revelations: if these people had only talked to me I could have helped them fake it right.

He also ran into some heat a few years back with the police - tried to block a cop car with his DC-3. That got him suspended from Delta, and investigated by the FAA. I don't know the final resolution.

On the Dan Gryder YouTube video recently put up, they show that interview with the late FBI lead investigator and he says Cooper used bad language and it sounded like he made this up?   I mean, Mucklow and Flo said he was polite?  That FBI guy, rest in peace, was just full of speculation.  Saying Cooper died.  He has no damn idea.  I don't much care for him.  The cop I mean. Cooper beat him and he knew it.

I am referring to DB Coopeer Deep Family Secrets released Dec 13 2021.    You looked good on there Bruce.  So this guy seems to think Cooper could not hold the money and pull the ripcord?  Cooper was younger than he is now.  Man this guy is something.  Admits to unethical actions and all.  I am wathing it now. Cant wait to hear his theory.  I wont believe it.  Nobody has proof of who he was.  Nobody.  Only finding the money and or the bomb and such would be convincing.  I agree with him about the FBI screwing it up and not wanting to look bad.  They look stupid for losing those  cigarettes

Dan Rather actually. In the late '80s he was attacked by a couple of men outside of his apartment building in NYC who beat him while screaming "What's the frequency, Kenneth? What's the frequency?" The band R.E.M. later made a song of the same name that became popular in the '90s.

I believe one of the assailants was later identified as a man with mental illness who believed that news media was beaming mind control into his brain.
