Please do. I tried reaching him via his website, and also tried to purchase the CD, but was unable.

How'd you guys connect? He's a Frenchman living in NYC.

Bruce: I reached out to him, but I realized it's been almost 2 years since we chatted, and he is not active.  Let's see what happens.  We originally connected on Twitter back in 2018, then when I heard his song we started to chat some.  It has a real good beat to it for running/exercise too, so even without the DB Cooper connection, I still like it.

I may not live in Cooper Country, but here in East Tennessee we do have our own parachuting outlaw. This is a crazy story, soon to be on the big screen.

Hey Bruce, I'm glad you and Darren brought up Lespy's name in the last Vortex.

Lepsy is still interesting to me.

Again, for me it's not DBC that is most interesting about Dick Lepsey. Rather, it's the guys in black who visited Lisa Lepsy many years after her father left. Who are they and why were they bothering a young woman missing her father?

Yes. I agree. That was very strange.

Lepsy is the only suspect that actually went missing, before the hijack. Also, the top well known suspects, like Weber and McCoy, wanted to be Cooper. They admired him; McCoy to the exact same style of crime as Cooper; Weber to be obsessed with Cooper - really thats what he was.

Lepsy was known to be very smart; above average intelligence, just the way Cooper was described when he spoke.

Cooper was described as a 40-year-old and Lepsy would be 35 in 1971, but men looked older in this time. Even Lepsy looked old as a 33-year-old. Like McCoy, who was 28 and looked A LOT older.

Lepsy wasn't in the military, which's why I think Cooper was inexperience and died, and never got a the chute open.

Cooper was out of the box, just the way Lepsy left his family and took money from his co-worker before he left, was out of the box.

The Bing Crosby sketch looks the most like Lepsy. That sketch has the same exact mouth as Lepsy. Even the Florence Schaffner sketch looks like Lespy.

See Melvin Wilson. He's not Cooper IMO, but a much better suspect than Lepsy.

Lepsy has crooked front teeth or tooth. it's noticeable enough to be put in his description..

There's one pic of Lepsy smiling and his tooth doesn't seem that crooked, to be noticeable.

Wilson is a good suspect because of this: "A witness, William Mitchell, who sat near Cooper on the flight has noted that Wilson and the skyjacker shared a peculiar facial characteristic." - that's interesting to me.

But Wilson looks too white; meaning: blonde and light eyes. Also the $200,000 that was found in that barrel make me believe he wasn't Cooper, for the fact that Cooper lost 5,000.

Wilson grabbed me just because what William Mitchell said, but if you look at Wilson and Lepsy and put sunglasses on them, they look very similar.

To you and anyone who shares that view... If you haven't done so, I would encourage you to get Andrade's book and read his research on WWII bailouts. These people were not experienced jumpers, with little to no training, making sudden, impromptu jumps out of airplanes that were probably often flying erratically, over unknown, possibly hostile territory, yet they had incredibly low incidence of no pulls. It's telling information.

Not sure if you mean static lines? Andrade's research was not on paratroopers making intentional static line jumps, but on aircrews making emergency bailouts from crippled aircraft.

Rescue in Cooper Country

This just in from the WSDOT:

Update 10:25 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021

Pilot and passenger recused after small plane crashed near Yacolt Monday afternoon

YACOLT – A Navy helicopter rescued two people Monday night after their small plane crashed near Yacolt earlier that afternoon.

The search crew out of Whidbey Island Naval Air Station found the pilot and passenger near Jack Mountain. The single-engine plane was unable to maintain altitude while flying from Bend, Oregon to the Tacoma Narrows Airport near Gig Harbor Monday afternoon. The plane is registered out of Vashon Island but names and other details of the pilot and passenger were not immediately available Monday night.

The pilot was speaking to air traffic control in Portland and alerted them when the plane’s engine started running rough and the aircraft was losing altitude. Voice and radar signals were lost at 3:47 p.m., but the last-known signal gave search crews a good target for which to search.

The Navy crew found the Piper around 9:30 p.m. and were able to load them into their helicopter and fly them to the Yacolt Primary School parking lot for medical examination. Their medical conditions were not available Monday evening but they were not believed to be seriously injured and were able to walk to the clearing where the helicopter picked them up.

The Navy helicopter searched by air while the Clark County Sheriff’s Office initiated a ground search. The search was coordinated by the Washington State Department of Transportation, which under state law is charged with the coordination and management of aerial search and rescue within the state.

Media questions about any investigation of cause in this matter can be directed to the National Transportation Safety Board.

_______________

Yacolt is just south of Amboy, and the current home of Tom McDowell, the guy who led the ground team in Amboy on 11.26.71.
