Shutter, there is ever indication that the Zodiac is still alive and I'll bet he is having a good laugh about the current claims of solutions to his codes.  A number of people with appropriate qualifications are also involved with the analysis of these codes.  They have made enough progress to be able to determine that the current proposed solutions to the Z408 and Z340 codes cannot be correct.  Actually, I have already stated the reasons for this a number of times.

At the present time, only the Zodiac or someone he has so informed knows the solution to or contents of these codes.  These codes are unique and with an infinite number of possible combinations or "solutions".  The Zodiac is not the village idiot and knew exactly what he was doing when he prepared these codes.  It is entirely possible and even likely that the Zodiac codes will never be solved.  Nevertheless, they continue to be of interest to a number of people.

In order to keep this subject from becoming "blevinized", I am not going to make any further comment on it here.  But I stand by everything I have stated here.

Years ago you asked me if some of our cyber security/genetic designer people had ever tried to break code - you didnt explain why. I gather now you had the Zodiac code in mind. Please explain to us why, in your professional code breaking opinion, the Zodiac code is unbreakable ? If there even is a code! ? Is it possible the code hasn't been broken because it isnt a 'code' ? You know there is infinite regression 'symbolic hash' one can generate which isnt a code as such but looks like code, and has no solution because there is no underlying coded message to solve ? But it is intimidating and time-consuming as hell in its capacity to misdirect people and consume people's time . . . forever!

More to the point Mr. Nicholson - what qualifies you to be working as a code breaker/evaluator in the Zodiac case at all ! You apparently are a man of many talents. Skills and specialties. Or is code breaking an adveture just about anybody can get into, with code rings from Cracker Jacks boxes? What other codes have you evaluated or broken? Ancient Sinai Script or Phoenician perhaps?  Who did you study under ... ?

Good try!  At least you are thinking for a change.  Now why don't you start at square one and see if you can determine what actually constitutes the ciphers.

Full disclosure, I am not the Zodiac and I was not in California on the dates of any of his murders to the best of my knowledge. 

But I had been in California the week previous to the Riverside murder which some media types claimed the Zodiac was responsible for.  However, I was on the east coast on the evening of that murder.

Full disclosure again, it is highly unlikely that the Zodiac had anything to do with the Riverside murder.  The Riverside Police had a viable suspect for that murder, but the media and the Zodiac was claiming that he did it so their suspect got off the hook.
