HI everyone,
I'm a history professor at the University of Missouri and new to the forum. I teach a history of flight course and have developed an interest in the Cooper case. I have also run across Duane Weber in the Missouri state prison records. Does anyone know where Weber was from March 1968 through 1971? I don't think Weber was Cooper but I would still like to run this down. I tried reaching out to Jo Weber without success (thanks to Bruce Smith for his help with this). Anyone have contact with relatives of Weber's previous wife, Mary Jane (Jean) Collins?
I'm sure you are all aware of this, but I recently ran across an extensive interview with Martin McNally on the podcast ganglandwire. After listening to the podcast I called McNally. Nice guy, sounds exactly like he does on the podcast. What's amazing about McNally is that he had no parachute experience, jumped at night at 300mph with only a front reserve chute, landed without significant injuries, except for bruises on his face where the chute hit him as it deployed, and managed to evade police and the FBI until a friend turned him in a week or so later.
