The DB Cooper case crossed paths today with the current political storm in Washington, D.C. concerning the stripping of security clearances.

The Washington Post is reporting that Tom Colbert's attorney, Mark Zaid, has entered the fray on behalf of embattled John Brennan, the former CIA chief under Obama. Here's the clip:

Mark Zaid, a national security lawyer in Washington, called Trump’s move unprecedented and said Brennan could pursue a due process claim. But he said it is unlikely that Brennan could win his clearance back.

“He may have a whistleblower claim because Trump tied it to Russia,” Zaid said.

“What we’re concerned about is how much further is it going to go?” he added, referring to other potential Trump targets.

Security clearance is a privilege granted after people leave the Gov and a requirement is to follow the CIA code of conduct. Brennan didn't. Trump has full authority to revoke. The tradition of extending security clearance for life after people leave the Gov is the problem.

Sounds reasonable, but to do the argument justice it would take me a month or two of hard work to lay it all out. The goal was to solve this puzzle for myself, I have achieved that. It wasn't to write a book or waste time and energy convincing others. I have hundreds of pieces of information, the best stuff not disclosed here. There is more than enough to write a book, but I am just not interested.

I don't expect anyone to just accept my opinion without analyzing the same info I have. I wanted to be first to "plant the flag" eventually others will follow.
