One of the more interesting aspects of Tom Colbert's research is the fact that one of his cold case team members threatened me with a law suit if I continued to contact him or other members of the CCT as part of my investigation of their actions in the DB Cooper case.
Some cops just can't help themselves from bullying pesky reporters, it would seem.
Huh... I obviously didn't get the memo on that. As I stated, you can ask me questions - just don't expect me to answer.
I should ask questions of a guy who publically states that he might not answer? Why waste my time? Worse, I consider that professionally rude; personally, I consider it a veiled bullying tactic.
You wanna talk, we can talk. Standard journalistic rules apply: everything is on the record unless you state prior that it is off-the-record. Those are the only two options for you. If you wanna clam up, you go on the record as a clam-up. That is non-negotiable. Period.
First question: What's your take on all the "de-coding" that is going on in the Colbert investigation? Do you believe it? Does the rest of the CCT believe it?
Next question: Whatever happened to the "parachute remains" and the dig site in the Battleground area? Are journalists ever going to be allowed to inspect the site, discuss the findings, etc.? Why are all the principals in this angle unresponsive, such as Kristie-the-cop and her husband - I forget his name - from Prairie Butte, Oregon? They were the pilots who contacted Colbert after getting the so-called runaround from the FBI.
Ball's in your court, Sixer. Whaddayasay?
