georger: Great points.  I'm new to forum, but not to the case and not to life.  I think we all need speculators and teachers, both add value whether it is to get someone to think differently, or to show them how to do something.  The preachers, schemers and wagerers we don't need.  I certainly have enjoyed reading all the different theories on here.  I've found it all very educating.  I look forward to hearing more.

Thanks. We need agreement among serious people. Actual "work" needs to be done, tests conducted, etc. All of this has been lagging. Something that moves the case beyond idle speculation and naysayers on forums. A few new serious people can make that happen. Hopefully new forensic work will emerge by August.

WOW! What a MONSTER. Ex cop. Might have done some crimes while he was an officer. Must be some celebrating among the investigators who appear to have solved this case.

I made a visit to one of the online forums dedicated to the GSK case. The members there were all ecstatic that it had been solved. I was a little jealous. Hopefully someday we can have the same celebration here.

LOL - came here today just to post this, you beat me to it! Wonderful story. And a bit of a relief and justification for cold case obsessives - just 'cos it ain't solved yet, don't mean it won't be. Also adore Patton Oswalt and was so sad when he lost his wife. Kudos to her, and to him for not letting her work die with her.  :bravo:

Had to check and sort out the timeline..

He was a police officer during the Sacramento area breakins and rapes.. 1976-1979 (suspected murder)

He was caught shoplifting dog spray and a hammer in early July 1979 and was fired..

The crimes then moved to Southern California..

So did he just stop? Or are they looking for potentially more victims later? (They caught a serial killer up here recently - landscaper. So now people's lawns are being searched for more bodies. It's gruesome.)

Did you know Schrödinger well?

I dont think Schrödinger has anything to do with the problem at hand!
[/quote] LOL, not personally. Have a professor friend who worked with Hawking for years in theoretical Physics, he only dabbles in superstring theory and all that, and I don't think even he would claim to "know" Schrödinger! (Fascinating field but oversimplified in a lot of pop cultural pieces - I did read a book on it by John Gribben years ago, but only remember bits and pieces, no pun intended.) I only meant that (like the famous cat), until we have anything in the way of proof of either Cooper's death on or continued existence after Nov 24/71, he is for all intents and purposes neither dead nor alive.

Unfortunately only a certain number of things could ever positively identify him - if dead, then the money, the chutes, possibly DNA depending on if the FBI actually HAS any of Cooper's; if alive, same, plus possibly knowledge of hitherto unpublished facts only Cooper would know. People can believe he's alive or dead as they please; it don't mean a thing if it ain't got the sting of proof.

I'm at best 70-30 in favour of Cooper of being alive, but mainly based on "where-the-hell's-everything-that-fell" factor. (It could be in the water. "Could" is a modal, however, of only 50% certainty.) Would never claim to be 100% sure he survived. Should the real Cooper ever get arrested and acquitted based on a Cooperland-boosted death theory, though, my conscience is clear.  ;)

John Gribben is a super-hero of mine. When I began my book on the Science of Consciousness - Into the New Physics, Gribben was my primary source to understand what everyone else was talking about.

As for Schroeddie - DB Cooper is both alive and dead until we solve this case.

Just out of curiosity there is a guy that was banned from here Derek use to claim he found the Golden State Killer, does anyone know who he thought the person was? I was trying to find old posts on other websites to try and find out. I just want to see if he was right.

Schmythie - there is no Schroeddie. Grow up!

Your comical act belies the fact that you know absolutely nothing about the topic. So why pretenddie?

It is unlikely.  Even the fellow who was arrested didn't appear on LE radars until last week.

Oddball question: When the analysis was done on the tie and it was determined that the particles came from specific types of places (factories, titanium, etc.), was there ever a connection made to trains or the railroad, whether in manufacturing or use or transport?  Could anything having to do with trains/railroad be connected?

The only possible railroad connection I could see was a few metals used in railroad (and road) flares, called FUSEES.

But the turned Al metal spirals, non alloyed Ti and rare earth phospor components point towards some other source.

The pure Titanium has gotta narrow things down a lot. Pure Ti was not used in pre 1971 railroad equipment as far as I know.

Just listened to NPR about it - actually he did appear on LE radar several times through the years including the time he was fired from his job as a deputy, and prosecuted for theft. After this the guy kept a very low profile, even stopped raping for a while. There was no physical evidence to connect him until recently, then things popped within six days. He had been an radar several times but no physical evidence to "connect" with. Behavioral evidence but again no physical connection. .............  the same as in the Cooper case! Radar is not enough. There must be a physical connection.
