Did you know Schrödinger well?
I dont think Schrödinger has anything to do with the problem at hand!
[/quote] LOL, not personally. Have a professor friend who worked with Hawking for years in theoretical Physics, he only dabbles in superstring theory and all that, and I don't think even he would claim to "know" Schrödinger! (Fascinating field but oversimplified in a lot of pop cultural pieces - I did read a book on it by John Gribben years ago, but only remember bits and pieces, no pun intended.) I only meant that (like the famous cat), until we have anything in the way of proof of either Cooper's death on or continued existence after Nov 24/71, he is for all intents and purposes neither dead nor alive.
Unfortunately only a certain number of things could ever positively identify him - if dead, then the money, the chutes, possibly DNA depending on if the FBI actually HAS any of Cooper's; if alive, same, plus possibly knowledge of hitherto unpublished facts only Cooper would know. People can believe he's alive or dead as they please; it don't mean a thing if it ain't got the sting of
proof.
I'm at best 70-30 in favour of Cooper of being alive, but mainly based on "where-the-hell's-everything-that-fell" factor. (It could be in the water. "Could" is a modal, however, of only 50% certainty.) Would never claim to be 100% sure he survived. Should the real Cooper ever get arrested and acquitted based on a Cooperland-boosted death theory, though, my conscience is clear.
