Memorial Day has come to mean the beginning of summer, a time for picnics and barbecues, and a holiday to gather around the family. That happiness and freedom, however, is a product of the real cause for the holiday: the sacrifice made by men and women who have fought and died for the freedoms and liberties Americans hold dear. Memorial Day is a time to remember that the American way of life is not cheap but rather has been purchased by the lives and blood of so many who have sacrificed for us to live free and happily now.

A Mother's Tear
There's more to the story,
than what just appears.
A war written story,
from blood and from tears....

On this Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifices of prior generations. We honor the sacrifices of the men and women next door who have served or continue to serve our country. And we pledge never to forget the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day was always the toughest day for me to report as a journalist - everyone expects a piece honoring the military, especially those who have died.

But I've always felt that the toughest fight of life is the one to resist the social pressures to go along with the prevailing mores. Perhaps my greatest battle has been to forgive my father for wanting me to go to Vietnam and risk death so that his friends wouldn't ostracize him. Risking a dead son was better than risk the death of his social standing.

Now, that's a slog, and that's just family. How about going up against corporate pressures to expand their business interests worldwide?  Whew.

I wonder how Robb feels on Memorial Day?  Hmmm. I'll have to ask him.
How about Karen McCoy? Pauline Braden?

You made me chuckle, Georger, but I won't send you any more pix.

If anyone is wondering what I sent Georger, I'd be happy to send you the same "crazy crap." They're pix made by Shut about the future of DB Cooper and the FBI.

I don't follow how my pics tell the future of Cooper, or the FBI? I made the pics for your book. here is one of them....

Well, yes, and I was only referring to DB Cooper and the FBI, the book. I should have italicized the title to avoid confusion.

Shut, if you want, feel free to post some of the other pix. I think they're cool, and made most people chuckle. Georger, of course, is well, still grumpy.

Some of you might notice MAD502 as a member here. he's from Atlas Media. anyway, for some reason that I can't figure out he can't send any PM's....I made him an Administrator for the only purpose to by pass anything that could be blocking him as a regular member.

I'll post them when I get a chance. I'm being pulled from different directions in the last couple weeks needing to be in two places at one time. anyway, things are slowing down now, and I'll be back to normal, if that's possible  ;D :D ;)

A member notified me of Robert Blevins closing his site to the public (again). I took a look this morning, and it appears he is going to hold his forum hostage until I met his demands?

Mr. Blevins once again doesn't seem to have a clue why he is banned from here. he was knowingly aware he wasn't welcome here prior to the forums start. I mentioned this on Bruce's blog. days into the start of this forum Mr. Blevins joined under a false name with no other intentions but to incite trouble. he claims it was because people were talking about him, but Galen didn't start up until Robert made his presence known. I perma-banned him. that's my decision, and not based on what Dropzone.com does, or anyone else. it will not be lifted under any circumstances, or demands!

He also banned Georger from viewing his site. he's not even a member of that forum. that's pure censorship 101 clear as day! his two main members (one is a Moderator) spoke out in disapproval of his actions. it's 100% obvious he can't survive without causing disruption. it's sad really. I ended up in battle with him on Pauls video on You Tube. he seen my comment, and the battle began. he's basically stalking my every move.

Holding a forum hostage because he did something wrong years back shows how much of a person he really is. this is nobody's fault except the work of one Robert M Blevins. I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DICTATE ME! he will never be welcome on this forum. he banged the drum about censorship for a year with me, and now he turns around and does the very same drum beat he hated so much? I'm stating to believe he has two personalities. he's vindictive, hateful, manipulative, angry, hostile, instigative, and arrogant, all rolled into one person.

To repeat, Robert M Blevins will NEVER be welcome on this forum. he fails to see what he has said, and done in the past. I refuse to deal with anyone putting such demands on a public forum, or not so public in his case. Robert is responsible for his actions, not the other way around.

Amen.

Neither I nor probably most of the posters here have even seen Blevins site, or know how to find it, and have no interest in doing so.  So I hope that no one posts any links to it either here or elsewhere.

If anyone is curious as to how this situation came about, all you have to do is check a few pages of the now locked DZ Cooper thread.

It's all so old listening to him lie about everything he says. he flip flops through everything he says, and does. one point Georger is welcome, and then out of nowhere he's banned? then he thinks we should work together, only to turn around a close his site down with demands to be met by me?

He has to work harder than he thinks to make his forum work. closing it to the public at random certainly won't help. his personality is really coming out now.

I think you are making the right call, Shutter.  We may disagree on many things on this site, but it's always a gentlemen's disagreement.
