...The other thing is "the tie." Tom Kaye puts a lot of importance on what he thinks he's found. But that's Tom Kaye -- the hobbyist, amateur scientist.
Some have said those elements could have gotten on the tie by simply working on a TV picture tube the week before the hijacking, or by going out to the dump with a .22 and standing close by when you shoot the picture tubes and watch them blow up. Not only that, there's no evidence the tie even belonged to Cooper. He could have picked it up from a Goodwill on his way to the airport. Moreover, as for the tie, the chain of evidence was compromised. The tie disappeared for several days, many FBI hands touched it, and the tie could have gone anywhere in those few days it was missing. As much as some folks get all excited about "the tie," I don't -- I don't get the high, hard one when I think about it. That's just me. I may be wrong, it may be a very promising piece of evidence, that would be great. But I have very little hope that we will get much from it. To conclude from the tie evidence that Cooper worked as a middle manager in some manufacturing plant for Boeing, where pure titanium was used, is real stretch...a real big stretch.... for the reasons cited above.
Meyer Louie
Meyer - I've literally been jumping up and down (ok, not literally) saying this for months! Finally; it seems someone agrees with me!!!
I'm not quite ready to declare Cooper was a middle manager Canadian Hutterite of Latin extraction from Saskatoon, who played with pure titanium in his spare time between his playing violin gigs at the Lemon Lounge in Bloomington and Charlie's Snake Pit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa - attended Comic-Con every year due to his dead certain affiliation with French Nationalists in Quebec and Dan Cooper cartoons, all deduced from the particles Tom found,,, but I am curious to know if the smoker who owned the tie laid down smoking residue on those particles ... or were the particles laid down on top of the smoking residue? You see he was smoking on the plane. He was not playing with Titanium on the plane. First comes firstest and last comes lastest ... hmmm I wonder which came first and which came latest? In the never ending saga of Cooper-Com actors in various costumes.
When all is said and done, there is only one piece of evidence about the Cooper hijacking that can be accepted without question. And that is the money found at Tina Bar. This despite recent claims that there is no "proof" that the Tina Bar money was part of the money given to Cooper.
Additionally, the rear stair placard that was found can be accepted with near, but not absolute, certainty as having come from the airliner.
These two pieces of evidence are the only thing in the FBI public records that show the flight path of the airliner from the time it took off from SEATAC, at 7:36 PM PST, until it was handed off to the Oakland ATC Center at 9:45 PM PST.
In a situation like this when people 'resort' to saying 'there is no proof', that usually means there is an agenda coming. And we learned the poster had an agenda and a suspect in mind. Fitting new suspects into the case always seems to require a rather large suspension of known data, or assumed data, to fit some new theory. Then as it usually happens the new theory, socalled, has no "proof" for it either! But we are supposed to accept the new theory over the old theory because ..... of politeness or political correctness ?
The placard and the money are two data points. They connect somehow, just as the orbital facts of Mercury's orbit connected for a few researchers early in the twentieth century, and Newton's Laws of motion could not explain it! The issue had been known and conveniently dismissed for 200 years, but the hard facts were there for anyone to see and account for. Then it turned out that Mercury's orbital perturbations was just one of a number of basic physical anomalies that Newtons laws could not account for ... there was a problem.
In a similar vein the placard and money at Tina Bar do connect, somehow in lieu of some set of facts we do not presently know. Very likely the solution is not some new set of physical laws but simply that we are missing some basic facts that occurred which would tie the placard and the money location together, in some common sense way anyone could understand.
The answer could be in the flight path, or in facts we are missing about what Cooper did after he survived a jump somewhere near Ariel and walked south back toward Portland, or it could be some other set of facts hitherto unknown. Whatever it is, odds are it is not going to be something weird or 'spooky action at a distance'. Whatever it is, it is going to be something common sensical and ordinary ... which perhaps only Cooper could reveal.
The newly released FBI files show that the FBI was considering a number of options not commonly discussed in the Cooper case, including radio and monitoring options Cooper might have possessed? I am willing to bet there are further undisclosed hypotheticals the FBI considered concerning the money at Tina Bar and how it got there...
