Just got this email from someone at Tektronix:

This is a fascinating story. I was a circuit designer at Tektronix Inc back then. Products I was involved with used a cathode Ray Tube which was designed in the Tektronix facilities (near Portland, OR. However the development of CRT(s)in quite a different department so I am not familiar with the production processes employed by Tektronix.
I have in my library a book by a a Tek employee involved with the design of CRTs within Tek. I suggest that  you try to contact Mr. Peter A. Keller perhaps through Tektronix Employee files. His book lists the chemical composition of the various phosphors used in CRT(s). Yttrium is listed there and was reported found on the tie believed to have been worn by the hijacker.

Meyer asked me: "What have you actually done to solve anything, by the way?"

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Norjack remains unsolved so arguably nobody has done anything to solve it.

Geoff is good at generating DBC publicity and any DBC publicity is beneficial. if we go a few years with no more History or Travel Channel type shows and no worldwide stories (like the recent tie news explosion) Cooper will be largely forgotten. We fanatics haven't solved the case. Somebody out there far away from the Cooper Vortex might have some key evidence and not even be aware of its significance. That person may be touched by a story and start figuring things out.

Sorry my post offended you Meyer, it wasn't intended to be nasty. I just think Geoff deserves some credit for the first Portland Symposium and its resulting publicity. It really got things rolling. Maybe he can give the Cooper story more legs. He seems well connected in the E Coast media world.

TK got the ball rolling on the tie. It would have been ignored but for his team's startling initial metals discoveries which have recently been supplemented.

I remain puzzled why the FBI didn't do some spectrographic and microscopic work on the tie.

Let's all get along. OK?

Okay, 377, sorry for jumping all over you.  You made your point, it is well taken --  GG and TK have made contributions in the way you have stated.   Be well.  Meyer

Spaced-out Radio - Thursday, Feb 2, 9pm-12 midnight, PST

Spaced-out Radio is doing another web stream broadcast on DB Cooper next week. I'm being interviewed again, and I suspect we'll be talking a lot about the Travel Channel docu, McCrone Labs and the particles, and the many mysteries and inconsistencies in the case.

I understand the best way to participate with questions and comments is via email.

Bruce,

Can you check to see if the college students in the Tina Bar segment were provided with DVDs of the episode?

Yes, but wouldn't it be more timely if you emailed Amanda or Caylie?

More about the Portland bar scene in the Travel Channel program:  the crew was all there, I believe Amanda was to Josh's left, they hugged, Caylie was to Josh's right, and the guy who said he was from Connecticut was our set director -- he's the one who miked us all up.  The tall young guy was very nice -- I talked with him a couple of times during the shoot on Tina Bar.  He told me he had the job a lifetime.  He was very interested in the case and asked some really good questions as he learned more throughout the day.  Some of the absolute nicest people you will ever want to meet.  They were so kind and patient.  Josh is a good guy.

Also, it appears he's closer to the camera, and there is a heavy incline/pitch/grade in the shoreline making you guys even smaller...

The main problem you have is you don't know if the book is fact, or fiction. there is a difference when trying to solve something. all though you may be convinced, that doesn't mean everyone else has to follow. when something factual can be verified in the book, perhaps others will look into it as a lead...

This is the problem with a lot of people who have suspects. they want everyone to believe them, but how can we do that when all of you say the very same thing? Blevins thinks Cooper is Kenny, Sailshaw thinks Cooper is Peterson, Marla thinks LD was Cooper, Jo thinks Weber was Cooper, who is fooling who here? you guys can't all be right, but then you blame us?
