Initial report from GG's Files
The file is almost 200 pages long. Some of it we have seen before, such as the pages on the parachutes.
Here are some of the highlights:
I. Passengers.
Only a handful of interviews are recorded. Some of the highlights are homes addresses and phone numbers. Also, exact seat position, and a general overview of the conditions on the plane during the hijacking. There is also a passenger list provided, but it only has 30 names on it.
1. Georger Labissioniere
Sat in Row 13. Able to use rear lav during the flight at last twice. Was blocked once by Tina, and another time by a passenger who was wearing a cowboy hat and got rowdy. Labissioniere and Tina got the cowboy settled down. DBC even voiced his support.
GL said DBC was - 35 y.o
- 5'10"
- 150 lbs
- medium build
2. Robert Gregory.
Said he was the last passenger to board the aircraft. Flo later said in the report that DBC was "next-to-last." Gregory said that he in the "last row" but then stated that DBC was sitting behind him. Passenger only moved forward when the plane had landed!
Gregory said DBC was - 35
- 5'9"
- swarthy, Mexican-American, with Native-American blood
- black greasy hair
- wearing that reddish jacket!
3. Cord Harms Spreckel
Said he sat in Row 17, directly in front of DBC.
Said DBC was: - 50 yo
- 5'10"
- medium build
4. William Mitchell
Sat in Row 18. Saw DBC spill a drink.
Says that DBC was: - 5'9"
- had "saggy chin"
- kept his left hand in briefcase
- said DBC had a "sack"
5. Mrs. Nancy House
Sat in Row 16, right side. Saw DBC carry the briefcase flat while exiting the rear lav. On top of the briefcase was a bag, she estimated to be FOUR inches think and about the same width and length of the briefcase, maybe a couple inches shorter. The bag was made of cloth, possibly burlap. It was yellowish or manila in color with a possible pinkish edge.
Mrs. House did not get a good look at DBC and would not have been able to ID him.
II. Crew debriefs.
These are composed of much of what we have already seen. But Tina's interview in Trevose, PA in December is included. Also, Rataczak's report seems to be more extensive. I didn't read them thoroughly.
III. Money
Much of this information has been released by Larry Carr in dribs and drabs. But I was very interested to see the detailed report from Detective Owen C McKenna of the Homicide Section of the Seattle PD who was tasked with picking up the money at Seattle First National Bank and guarding it all the way to 305 on the runway.
Also of note - the feds had 230 Big Ones stashed! And the microfiche had to be corrected to weed out the extra 30 grand.
IV. RENO and evidence retrieval.
Calame says the boys were all mixed up on who did what, but these files spell it out:
1. Ricks got the cigarette butts.
2. Tie was found on seat 18 E
3. Head towel had a single strand of head hair.
4. Fingerprints were gathered by Stousland and Ricks.
5. Other agents involved: SA Schmidt, Bell, Newpher, and Stone.
V. Door panels
Paul Soderlind was interviewed in Minneapolis to discuss the door panels, which were large enough to hide an adult male. However, Soderlind said that's the panel could only be accessed when the aft stairs were fully deployed. Hence, DBC could not have hidden himself there.
