150? YIKES!
Hurricane Wilma back in 2005 had 125 mph winds. I tried to make it to my moms house driving right when the eye wall hit. a tractor trailer turned over in front of me, and I watched the telephone poles bend over. the rain was so bad, I could only see the white line on the side of the road. I couldn't get into my moms area due to tree's blocking the road, then I got the truck stuck, and me and my dog made a run for it. only had about a quarter mile to go, but of course the dog chased debris, stopped to pee etc.
Hurricane Andrew wasn't as bad in Broward county. as soon as I passed the county line, it looked like a bomb went off. this was several hours after it passed. it had winds much greater than 125. cops wondering around not knowing what to due, cars upside down, boats on the road etc.
You learn very quickly to respect a hurricane once you have been through one...I've been through 5, or 6 I believe. Wilma was the one that woke me up out of all of them...it was only suppose to reach category one, but intensified while crossing the Everglades and became a major hurricane with no time to prepare for it's strength...
