BIG NEWS

My book, DB Cooper and the FBI - A Case Study of America's Only Unsolved Skyjacking, is now available at Amazon, in a Kindle version, which is an e-book.  The text reads very easily on a commuter screen, but is designed for tablets and such, too.

I am so excited!

My Amazon site is also set up for discussions, ala blogging, so you can interact with a broader audience than here or the DZ.  $6.99 gets you in the game in the USA, and in about 90 days I'll be seeing about $4. But if you want to buy it in Russia, it's gonna cost you $89. (?)  Italy is eleven Euros.  Hmmmmm....

Also, if anyone who like to post a review at Amazon, I'd be most appreciative.

Congratulations Bruce on your book!

And Shutter, congratulations, also on your one year anniversary. I think this forum might turn out to be the place for real discussion. Dropzone has served us well over the years,  but it's just not the same over there anymore. There are only a  couple of regular posters there now -  so who knows whether it will go the way of other forums if people stop responding to them. (lol...easy for me to say -- it's hard not to engage - I stayed away for a while, now I think I need an intervention)  ;D ;D
Oh well -  I hope they keep that one accessible even if it grinds down to a halt, but I do think that you've gone and got yourself a good forum.

Again, Congratulations to both of you!!

Thanks S99, I believe goals have been made here. I wanted a place where we could discuss Cooper, it's that simple. we have hardly had any bickering on here, a few pot shots here & there that you'll see anywhere, but nothing that calls for riot control  :P

Off-Topic Off-Topic:

I had a shock while at work today. The contractor came up to me and said he had his "Safety guy" submit a letter to OSHA telling him my work, and safety record was flawless up to the point of what happened last Friday. he told me they typically drop it down to 10%, or have a first offender thingy called "Good Faith" where they drop it to a warning. I'm lucky this contractor did this, most will run away fearing involvement! I now have two companies helping to resolve this stupid mistake on my end..... :'(

Congratulations also on the anniversary.  And good luck with the OSHA.  You might point out to them that it was only you (the boss), and no one else, who was "endangered" by the violation.

Thanks......

I told Mr. OSHA while he was there, but he already noticed my guys were in full compliance safety wise. (glasses, gloves, boot, and hardhats)

What I hate is I have two lifts on the site. one is a Boom lift. it requires a harness, or fall protection. the other lift is a scissor lift that doesn't require fall protection. they are running side by side, same height....I need the boom for the ramps leading into the warehouse. you can't raise a scissor lift on a pitched surface.

How do you post an image instead of an attachment of an image?  I see the button, but I'm not sure what to insert between the prompts.

I can't type it out correctly on here, so I made an attachment explaining the process....

That makes sense.  Thank you.

Re: [RobertMBlevins] Another Gem by Bruce Smith, Rex Magistrum [In reply to]

Folks - this thread has run its course on Dropzone.com. It has long turned into a bickering platform for 3 or 4 individuals. While we've tolerated this for a long time it has simply reached the point of diminishing returns. The number of PM complaints we have to deal with from the few members involved in this discussion about the conduct of the others is completely disproportional to the value we get from hosting this.

Please feel free to set up a discussion on one of the many free forums out there like:

Once done you're welcome to send me a URL and I'll make one final post to this thread to point others to the new discussion.

No, PMing me will not get me to reopen this thread.

Maybe now the few who destroyed Dropzone can seek psychiatric care they so richly need!

 ;)

It's time to call Bob! Special price on used Cooper Wackos! Bye Bye Joh! It is beyond belief!

Well, lets just let it go. I don't think celebrating the lose will do any good for anyone. it's unfortunate, but as I mentioned, the writing was on the walls for some time now. I always felt as if I was intruding into the sport of skydiving by not being one myself. that was another reason I started this forum. hopefully it will remain just as the other locked thread has over the years, so information can still be accessed.

I don't mind discussing the news, but lets keep the remarks down a notch.

Thanks

Whatever happened to "Moriarty"?  He kind of fell off the face of the earth around here.

He closed out his membership. he continued to talk with R99, or Georger off the forum. perhaps they have a better idea?

It must have been Georger.  I don't think it was me.

Ok, maybe Georger will give some information. I can't think of anyone else it could of been.

I do need to grieve the passing of the DZ, though. It was a great place in its day, and I learned a ton o' stuff about DBC there. Larry's contributions were invaluable.

In the DZ's latter years, it evolved into a kind of comic book that I loved to read over my first cup of coffee, or late at night as the world gets very quiet. In some ways it was my "People" magazine to the "National Geographic" that this forum appears to be.
