I am tending to agree with Bruce on this one, not much hope for a fresh, new, qualified suspect.

There are very few ways this case can actually be solved. One of them is if Cooper, or someone close to him comes forward and has some form of hard evidence that proves that this is the guy.  Motivation could be financial or to receive attention/credit.  Cooper, if still alive, would be nearing the end of his life and may have nothing to lose by coming forward.  This could be the guy and this could be the best way to cash in on the case (book deal, exclusive interview, etc.).

Once we find out who this new suspect is, we can quickly run him through Agent Carr's checklist of attributes (height, weight, etc.).  If he passes the first round, then we can dig deeper.  I'm trying to keep an open mind and give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but they better have a good explanation as to how the money ended up on Tena Bar.

Yes. Keep this in mind when the show airs. In fact, keep a running list of all the evidence they bring to the show. Then let the digging begin.

I say:  "I think I solved the crime when I found the FLAW in Sheridan Peterson's phony alibi and past the info on to the Seattle FBI Office in Jan/Feb of this year. The History channel show on July 10 will not have my information as they were not able to get to me while filming. So, don't expect much from their show in July as it will just be a rewarming of what we already know. Too bad as they did contact me but ran out of time before they got to me. It is just another twist in the Cooper Case that the FBI can't seem to solve (or maybe they are not trying to solve as it might be a cover-up)
The FLAW in the alibi is that none of Sheridan's two children born in Nepal were born in the year of Norjak (1971). His son was born in 1970 and the daughter in 1972 per public records from persopo.com.. The FBI overloked the public records and probably accepted a birth certificate copy with an altered date to match Norjak. Big mistake as a lie to the FBI is a Federal Crime just by its self and could have been used to pry the DB Cooper Caper out of Sheridan. It is just that simple but is being overlooked..
Will the FBI solve it before this November 24th which is the 45th anniversary of Norjak? PROBABLY NOT IF THEY DON'T WANT TO SOLVE IT. plus it gives Bruce Smith more to write about and sell more additions to his great book.

Those letters were the ones that were cut-outs from a Playboy magazine weren't they?

The find by "Al Di" or whoever it was that figured out where the letters were cutout from is either an unbelievable sleuth or he knows who the person is who sent those letters.

I still don't necessarily believe the letter sender was Cooper.

Sending those letters from the bottom of a river....now that would be an amazing feat!!

So far, there is no hard evidence (prints or dna) that connects the letters with Cooper or anyone who contributed prints and dna on the plane, or on the tie.

I conclude the letters were composed and sent by some 'crank' ... possibly 'Sheknee Canoe aka Benny Ambroise" in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota who knew Kenny Christian and his brother and and was well known for contriving pranks by mail from his cabin on Otter Tail Creek (Saganaga Lake) Grand Marais MN.  :))

I always wondered if "aldi" is nothing but a family member of the person who sent the letters in 1972?

Aldi's connection to the writer seems more likely than his 100% successful complete reverse engineering of the magazine cutouts.

Al Di

I consider Al Di to be one the most intriguing mysteries to surface recently in Norjak. It's a real stretch to think that DB Cooper actually sent souvenir mail to newspapers in the days after the jack. But it's possible.

What is more intriguing - and much more mysterious - is Curtis Eng's behavior regarding Al Di. I think at this point most of us feel that Al is probably Curtis. But why do the dance? What's up with Curtis???

Al Di is certainly someone intimately connected to the FBI AND Norjak. Besides the extraordinary reverse-engineering of the letter, who gave the prompt to the Oregonian to publish Letter #3 on August 1, 2011 in the first place???

Then, who told Stuart Tomlinson at the Oregonian to forget getting the letter, forget talking to Galen Cook about the letter, and forget both of those incidents when I talked with him. That's a lot of forgettin', even if the guy is as old as me...

And why prompt the Oregonian the day that the Marla/Most Promising piece comes out in London, preceding the Marla Madness that week? Just adding a little momentum to GG's book release on the 8th?

Maybe. Maybe not...

Bob,
I don't see a correlation between the sender of the letters and the person who hijacked the plane then lost the loot (and probably his life) in the Columbia.  The hijacker did not gloat or taunt at any time during the event.  The letter writer seems to do both. That says something about the character of this individual.
