Are we having fun yet?   ???

Yes. I love the dawn of battle.

I believe the enemy may have been spooked and flushed out into the open.  Who amongst you will be the first to spot him?

...I've only bought one Playboy magazine ever, and that was to read an interview they did with John Mellencamp....

Mellencamp? Please tell us more!

My mother wasn't real happy when I walked in with that magazine. I tried to explain that I bought it for that interview, but she didn't really believe me even though she knew I was a huge fan of his. I actually got to join him on stage and sing with him in 1992.

WOW. Sang with John on stage? Tell us more!!!

Stop copying! You dont even know what Schrodinger's cat and the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle are - and yet you spout nonsense about comparing them to DB Cooper? You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Grow up. You are on a Dead End No Outlet road.

As I understand the Uncertainty Principle, it claims that one can not know the exact location of a subatomic particle, such as an electron, without measuring it; yet in doing so that would change the location. Hence, its location is "uncertain," along with other relevant dynamics such as speed and trajectory.

The UP seems to have been coupled with other phenomena, such as the Observer Effect, where subatomic particles exist as both a wave and a teeny bit o' matter, and the subatomic "entity" facilitates between the two states depending upon whether the particle is being observed or measured. The "double-slit" experiment seems to have recorded this phenomenon accurately.

As a result, when Schrodinger came along he asked whether a cat who was cooped-up in a sealed box was in a similar dual state of existence - alive or dead - until observed. Hence, I ask: is DB Cooper both alive AND dead since he has not been observed since he jumped out of the airplane?

The R99 Hypothesis is that Cooper changed his state of existence permanently about 8:15 PM PST on the date of the jump.  And he won't be back.

Cooper was not an electron. The uncertainties in the Cooper case are of a different type and nature. The only thing in common is the word "uncertainty" but the meanings are different. One might as well call an electron an "animal". Well the electron vs Cooper are different types of animals, entirely!  >:D :))

The comparison is a farce.

The difference between the micro world and the macro world is for me the most fascinating aspect of quantum physics. Why are certain phenomena so apparent in the subatomic world, such as wave-particle duality, but seemingly non-existent - or at least invisible - in the larger world of human bodies, 727s, and parachutes?

My book on the science of consciousness dives right into this aspect of quantum mechanics. The book is currently half written and the remainder awaits my the cessation of my current, and burning, interest in Cooper.

A bold statement, R99, but sadly, science does not support your conclusion. That's the funny thing about quantum physics - I find it compels us to always be in a state of wonder and possibility. The fact that science precludes us from having certainty is the Ultimate Inconvenient Truth.

The Bigger Question is how do people live who require absolute certainty in their life. Their lives are really just quixotic quests of epic proportions.

Taken in a Larger Context, then, all of life is actually one really big Norjak investigation. Try as we might to escape or cancel them from our lives, there is a certain, absolute probability that Jo Weber and Bobby Blevins will appear in our reality, yet again. Whew.

And we haven't even begun to talk about Quantum Entanglement....which will begin to address the frequency and impacts of their appearance. Said another way: how often they will drive us crazy and to what degree. Hence, we have some of the scientific underpinings of the Cooper Vortex.

Some how my IP keeps getting into the "deny IP" list? once that happens it blocks everything....they are looking into the reason this keeps happening.

This number stuff is so irrational, but I share in it. Why is 10,000 any better than 10.032?

There is something significant about numbers and their effect on the human brain. There is an old  homeless guy in my town that I try and help out with new clothes, shoes, etc. He is mentally ill, actually psychotic, but you can have a normal conversation with  him IF and ONLY IF you stay away from numbers. IF a number comes up in conversation he starts obsessing about it and soon spins up into florid incoherent psychosis. Such is the power of numbers.

Because they give away free stuff when milestones are reached - that's why! So put an extra ton of coal in the bucket and get a free sack of taters! That's a round of beers or a down-payment on on some shoes for the kids!
