I haven't lost sight of the real cause, but the emails were the nail in the coffin. I hope it turns out not to be Bryan sending those emails, and something is done about it. if they are legit, then sadly I won't be doing anything about the current status of the Tavern.

He locked out a media source linked to DB Cooper. It's not my fault for the reasons Robert is not here. he did that all by himself. he wants to blame me for it, but the bottom line is I won't get involved in anything tied to him. he got all bent out of shape when Bruce posted his email, but it's perfectly fine for him to post phone numbers of people, really?

This is a real situation, a worthy cause, and not some internet bashing. he brought it out into the real world by banning Cooper media sources, banning people from Cooper establishments, and censoring his site? Bruce didn't post the email for spite, or to cause trouble unlike the actions of Robert. sadly, Bryan is in the middle...

That is possible, but Bruce has also tried calling Bryan and he's not responding.  Robert can't control Bryan's phone contact, too.  At this point, if I'm Bruce, I'd leave a message saying he's about to post an article on MountainNews about the fund raiser and how some of the Cooper fans are being alienated -- and he'd like to give Bryan a chance to respond before he publishes it.  And, he'd like to do it by phone.  If Bryan didn't write those emails, he might call back with "why would Cooper fans be alienated by this?".  If he doesn't call back, he must not care what Bruce writes.

You cant fix crazy and stupid!   ;D  Maybe Woodruff & Blevins have a lot in common? Apparently so. Oh well.

For one thing, we know Blevins thinks he "owns" the DB Cooper story! Woodruff may have similar goals!

Imagine that! DB Cooper copywrited by Blevins and Woodruff@ Pretty soon you will have to pay Blevins and Woodruff a royalty just to discuss the case!

The article I would like to see is an honest take on the issue at hand. it's possible Bryan doesn't know whats going on, so you would simply make an article explaining you were banished from the Ariel Tavern restoration period, and from the Tavern once it opens. explain the petty and spiteful reasons that come from Blevins. bring up that people don't understand the not staying in contact statement. why are you banished from something that hasn't even started? why would Bryan take such a stand?

Bruce has a lot of contacts, and whether you like him, or not it shouldn't get in the way of lending a helping hand that could possibly bring in a lot of money for the cause.

I have called Bryan multiple times. He has never answered his phone, and a message machine never kicks in, so I have been unable to leave a message.

I have attempted to contact Bryan via his Facebook page, but to no avail. I have contacted others in the Woodruff/Elliott clan via Facebook, but so far no one has responded to my invitation to discuss what is going on.

This kind of behavior is not the Bryan I knew in the past, November-December 2015 when Dona passed. Bryan always answered his phone, was warm, and very personable. We chatted at length about Dona, the restoration, and how he and his family was coping.

I never had an email address for Bryan, not until a week or so ago when "he" emailed me. Whether it is Bryan or someone else, I don't know. However, when I was in the Ariel Store with Meyer back in August 2013 I didn't see any computers laying around, nor have I ever heard of a website for the Ariel Store. Dona's business card for the Ariel Store didn't post a website or email address. I strongly doubt she had a computer, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bryan hasn't had one, either. Maybe he does now, since "he" is sending out emails, but it could all be a conceit conceived by others.

To get the full story, I'll need to go down to Ariel and talk to Bryan directly.

My primary goal back in 2014 was to start a new forum where DB Cooper could be discussed. it just wasn't happening anymore on dropzone due to several members. I'm not in this to contact every producer, or news media about Cooper that can be found. I like to research the case. if they contact me, which they have, I will be more than happy to tell them what I know about the case.

Obviously, some are in it strictly for the glory, and notoriety. that's not what I'm about at all.

The grudge work has only begun for Bryan if they are serious about bringing the Store up to code. And that is only where it starts. The building/business has to be maintained into the future. We could be talking about some serious money. $10k could be just a start. I did read something someplace where RMB was talking about 'rebuilds' he and Gayla had done ... on a fraternity/university house? Maybe Blevins is planning on doing the Ariel Store rebuild? It's not out of the realm of possibility since maybe Dona's family cant afford or doesn't want to spend for a regular contractor?  Apparently, B&G Housecleaning and Adventure Books are in charge of this whole thing? Is this the ame RMB who wouldnt go to the Store one year because of the 'evil Cooperland folks who collect there'?

This situation could be the end of the Ariel Store. It may be more than any of them wants to contend with ... and for what longterm gain?

I think Bennett's remarks are true. Everything beyond that depends on Woodruff.

Everything else is pure speculation outside of what the Adventure Books page says publicy, and is any of that accurate? I doubt it. That doesn't leave much wiggle room until Woodruff surfaces, if he ever does!

In Florida you need to be a licensed general contractor. someone with a license needs to pull the permits. I don't know the extent of problems they are facing, but I don't think it qualifies for a homeowners permit.

Here, if the codes were in serious jeopardy they would want an up to date property survey, and a structural engineer to look over the building just for starters. ceiling heights could be an issue. the shutter company I worked for 10 years ago had to close the second floor due to the height requirements out of code. actually, it was the fire marshal giving the violation.

I guess that's up to the city. they will decide what will be required.

Maybe I'm crazy, but for all of his faults I have my doubts that RMB is the one sending these emails. At the least, if he is sending them, I doubt he is doing it without Woodruff's knowledge. But, I have been wrong a time or two before.

I do look in at his site, but have fought the urge to join. The only reason that I ever thought about joining was so that I could point out all of the BS in the Kenny story (again). But, dialogue is what has kept that story alive for far too long. Now, without any dialogue, it is dying a slow painful death and I'm damn sure not going to be the one to help bring it back to life. Rest in peace, Kenny.

When I first saw the post on Blevins site the other day about him helping to get the Ariel store up and running again, I thought it was a noble gesture and a cool thing to do. I don't have any ill feelings for Blevins, and if he does something cool I'm an honest enough person to recognize it. I even thought that I may even pony up a hundred bucks for the cause. But then I read this email that Bruce got from the son who now owns the place, and I'm really puzzled. Why, if you're trying to raise funds to get this store back up and running, would you alienate the small - very small - group of people who actually give a shit about the DB Cooper case??? Why turn down an interview for The Mountain News?? If one person reads that interview, and donates money of any amount, then the interview was well worth it. I just don't get it. I also don't get why Bruce is a bad guy for not staying in touch since the death of his mother. This guy has obviously been influenced heavily by Blevins, who is still butt hurt over not being allowed to be on this forum. Bottom line, I'll just donate my hundred bucks to the Trump campaign, or stock my fridge with a few cases of Miller Lite.

How about 70 bucks to The Donald, and 30 to BAS and I'll mail you an autographed copy of the book about the Not Michael Cooper Skyjacking (along with an address...).

And Happy Birthday to EVicki, too! (And thank you to Facebook for reminding us.)

Bruce, that is an excellent idea! If I remember correctly, I need to pay for that with a check?

Bruce, is there an email that is specific in not allowing you on the property?

No. The possibility is intimated in the last (second) email from "Bryan, and further reinforced by nasty comments from Bobby directly.

It does sound like you need to speak with Bryan in person. I think the "both sides of story" fits in well with the issue.

Have you ever had any problems with Dona, or Bryan? if not, it appears Robert has filled his head with negativity to it's fullest. I just don't see the reasoning behind all of this, unless it's more spite coming from Robert.

Lots of people, including Blevins want Fox news banned, why? because they don't agree with it? I don't like mainstream news, but you don't see me on corner holding a sign. freedom of choice need not apply?

This needs to be cleared up as soon as possible.

The hostility expressed in the emails came as a complete surprise to me. Getting down to Ariel to talk with Bryan is on my list, but not high on my list, as I don't have wheels at present.
