Update on Ariel Store Rebuild
I received the following email today from Bryan Woodruff concerning his efforts to rebuild the Ariel Store and honor his mother, Dona Elliott, and her legacy. The email touched on a few topics, and I found it quite revealing as to the current dynamics at work in Cooper World. I have responded to the email and await his reply; plus I have phoned Bryan, unsuccessfully, in an effort to get an up-date on these activities. I strongly support his efforts to establish a DB Cooper museum in the new Ariel Store, and I know that others on this forum do as well, since they have asked me how they can help.
To that end, I share this missive:
Hello Bruce,
I sincerely thank you along with Robert Blevins for getting the word out in regards to my mother's passing, and our having to postpone last year's annual D B Cooper Party do to her passing. It is truly appreciated, as local news stations were of no help.
First and foremost, as of Feb.18, 2016 I am the single and sole owner of the property in which Ariel Store resides. Since the day of Mom's passing I've been open, honest, and truthful along with being consistent in my postings on my Facebook in regards to my plans for Ariel Store. Mom and I did have our many talks, she knows I'll protect the legacy she leaves behind with my life. My cousin is a retired Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge who is available to recommend legal counsel to me should any legal issues need be attended to on my behalf. Believe me Bruce, when it comes to making decisions (in regards to my home, Ariel Store, and my Mother's legacy as part of the DB Cooper legend) the decisions made are not taken lightly nor made in haste.
Secondly. Robert Blevins and those working along side him at Adventure Books of Seattle ARE 100% in control of every aspect in regards to the go fund me account per my request. I support and back their efforts 100% as the sole legal owner of Ariel Store and the property in which it resides upon. Some may not agree with my choice, but it was my decision alone and it was not made in haste. All questions and inquires others have in regards to the go fund me account will be referred to Robert Blevins per my request, and no exceptions will be made period. Our common goal is working as a team towards the establishment of a DB Cooper Museum and the re-opening of Ariel Store to the public at large in time for the 45th Anniversary Party to be held in memory of Mom's 25 years of dedication to it. My mother's devotion and dedication to DB Cooper's legend is her legacy, in passing she leaves behind perhaps the world's largest collection of articles, photos, books, and letters which should all be shared with the many world-wide fans of DB Cooper.
Prior to Nov.28, 2015, Robert and you both called inquiring about the forthcoming DB Cooper Party. You both were informed of my Mother's passing as well as our having to postpone the party as a result of her death. Robert Blevins chose to remain in contact. DID YOU?
My family, friends, locals, and many world-wide support 100% my efforts to re-open Ariel Store to all in Honor of My Mother's Legacy as part of DB Cooper's legend. No inflammatory nor slanderous statements will be tolerated in regards to my ownership, Ariel Store, and my Mother's legacy as part of the DB Cooper Legend. Multi-million dollar lawsuits are a legal option available to me as sole owner of Ariel Store. Negativity is not welcome period, we the people who love, honor, and cherish her memory do not need it nor will we tolerate it period.
All are welcome to support our efforts, Including you as well. Your choice.
Best regards,
Bryan Woodruff
