I want to wish everyone a wonderful New Year and many blessings for the coming year. I mean this sincerely. There has been a lot of negative energy on this website at times. I believe this is a combination of “carry-over” from the dropzone and just the nature of internet forums in general. Many online conversations seem to lack a sense of decorum, and here, people attack one another on a fairly regular basis. I am just as guilty of this as anybody else here, if not more so. I’ve more than happy to point out people’s personal shortcomings and participate in ad hominem attacks.
That being said, one of my top New Year’s resolutions is to be a positive force on this website. I’m going to work on being more open minded and accepting of others opinions. I want people to view me as a resource and an asset, and not as a detractor of the opinions and beliefs of others that aren’t in line with my own.
This isn’t a speech to show everybody what a great guy I am, or to try to shame others into modifying their behavior. I just want to share the fact that I’ve not always acted in a way that I’m proud of here. I am working on changing this.
The Cooper case is a tough one. This case has very little evidence and even fewer facts. That being said, we have the wonderful benefit of the hard work and progress made by the people who previously worked on the case. Some of these folks are right here on this website. What an asset! I honestly believe that working together, we can move this case forward, and dare I say, possibly resolve it. This could happen.
Again, I’m admitting I’ve been negative towards some folks. I am going to work hard on changing that. After all, we have a lot more in common, than we have differences.
Happy New Year,
Ross Richardson
