Gossip from Jo

The ole gal called me again tonight. Says she still can't access this forum, so she's hungry for news. I told her the Leppo-Man story seems to have faded considerably.

"I'm not surprised - I could have predicted that!" she replied.

She also wasn't surprised to hear that Georger is busting my chops again, this time over the DNA.

But she seemed most eager to tell me that the computer guy who was supposed to get her back in the saddle computer-wise isn't doing his job. In fact, he's putting his money into fixing up his new car ("I should have put a lien on it,") and running around with a Trampy-Looking Southern Gal that neighbors are telling Jo is a prostitute. I was all set to hear the nitty-gritty on that, but somebody came to the door and Jo had to leave.

Since I don't often get a socially-appropriate opportunity for hanging up on Jo, I grabbed the chance and said "See ya" just as she was saying, "Goodbye."

Her IT guru is scamming her on the computer work and carousing with a Southern tramp? More drama.  Is anyone surprised?

I think Jo needs to kick the bum out. Yesterday.

Weather Update in Cooper Country

In case anyone is contemplating stealing a 727 in Western Washington this week, or is considering taking a Road Trip through our fair lands exploring the terrain of Danny Boy, be warned. We Are Getting Our Butts Kicked Seriously By Mother Nature.

The ol' girl ain't foolin' around.

Landslides in Woodland closed I-5, so even if you had a really good ground team, you ain't gettin' back to PDX any time soon. Even with an escort from the WSP, as the Guv was down to take a look so they were busy. We also had a tornado pass through in Battleground. Plus, tons of thunder and lightning, which is very weird for us, even in the summer. And everything else is flooded, but then, that's NORMAL.

Whew.

No thanks. I will never engage Jo by telephone. I like her, but our comm mode will always be email. That way I have some control over the timing and duration.

Bruce, you think you've got problems?  There have been snow showers at my house at times over the last week and the mountain snow level has been lower than the elevation of my house.

But tonight, the temperatures are suppose to be in the very low 20s here and I imagine there will be a lot of new snow on the nearby mountains tomorrow morning.  And I do have a snow shovel but haven't had to use it in the more than a decade I have lived here.

All of this is 12.5 miles, as the crow flies, from the Mexican border.

Crazy.

Trump doesn't need a fence. We can freeze em en route.

Increase carbon emissions, now.

This time of year, a large number of solo illegals are heading south to spend the holidays with their families.  To go south, they can walk right through just about any port of entry with no problem.  But after the holidays, they have to take the brush route again to get back.

Nothing runs up the body count like running out of water while going through the desert brush during the summer months.

A truly tragic situation. I read once about a humanitarian group that wanted to stash emergency water along the Coyote routes, but dont know if it ever happened. My guess is the stashes would eventually be plundered by those who didn't want to pack all the water they needed.

Was going through my old parachute gear and found my 26 foot Navy Conical reserve canopy. Cost me $25 back in the late 60s. Saved my life in a cutaway. Can't bear to get rid of it. Showed it to my kids and said you wouldn't be here but for this nylon rag. My son laughed, said he'd keep it and give the same speech to his kids when he has some.

You've just given me a NEW PROBLEM, R99. I was supposed to be a Snow Bird, not some guy from Tacoma stuck in the snow 12.5 miles from where Trump want to build his new fence....

...oh, well, maybe I will go to Ecuador. Nothing wrong with a country named after the equator. Should be warm, I would think.

Maybe my next book, after the hard copy of DB Cooper and the FBI comes out, will be: English-Spanish Guide for Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare Recipients.

Nope. It's the cross you bear Bruce. Some day perhaps your martyrdom will be recognized.  ;)

Until then set aside a few hours for your next call with Jo.

Jo has been on death's doorstop forever. Long live Jo!

You were probably a lot closer to death than Jo was when you had your heart attack.

Long live Bruce too.
