I miss her. Funny; I took EVRYTHING she said with a ton of salt, but she always stuck to her guns no matter what, and it was a damn good party - I wish Bryan had not canceled it, even if it had to be scaled back. Hell, half of it was out in the street anyway.

He probably has a ton of reasons, personal and legal. If it does come back it sounds like it will be worth the wait. A lot of these old places don;t meet current code, have been grandfathered in through the years letting things slide, then the owner dies and things change legally. We have lost nearly all of the old county night clubs that used to flourish in this State, due to 'code' issues. It's a shame and totally unnecessary. Two outside of Iowa City were being forced to close about twenty years ago and that raised the hackles of a ton of area people including the famous coaches  Hayden Fry and Dan Gable. Both places had run with periodic improvements since WWII! But the County Supervisors were merciless. We made sure everyone employed in these places had good jobs to go to. I hope the Ariel Tavern survives and Bryan is allowed to do what he wants and needs to do.

Another DB Cooper film

Galen says that he has been contacted by a production company in NY concerning DB Cooper. I asked him if it was Atlas Media, and he said no. Here's his take on it all:

"B:

"The NY inquiry was actually an agency outfit who was working for a movie producer who lives in Key West, FL.   The FL guy wants to do a motion picture on DB Cooper.  He is a personal friend of Ed Asner who wants to finance the project.  I told them to leave me out of it, and that answer really surprised them.  They thought I would be willing to participate in a motion picture.  I asked them, "based on what?"  Apparently, based on all the chatter going on in the internet, since they wouldn't answer me directly.  But they knew about Blevins (ad nauseum), you, and others.  You may be getting a call in the future.  Back to Blevins........I didn't trash him badly, but I discredited him as a nobody who wanted a lot of attention, and he didn't know anything technical about the case.  Mentioned to them that Blevins is a house cleaner by trade who is looking for any platform to prop himself on.  Gave them Blevin's house cleaning website as proof.   I also told them that if they contacted Blevins for anything on their project, that I would never respond to them again, as I don't care to have my name on any investigation that involves Mr. Blevins. So, I guess that left the door open for me to have a possible future contact with the agency guys.  We'll see.  Meanwhile, I gave them a glowing testimonial that you should be the guy to be contacted, as your book is the most current and you are a friend of mine.  And, I don't care if you reprint or paraphrase any of this into Shutter's site.  Makes no difference to me.

"Hope you get the call.

GC"

Blevins has never concealed this occupation. Nothing needs to be proven. He shouldn't be shamed for making a living at an honest trade. It has no relevance to his qualifications in other areas.

I worked as a factory janitor and cleaned filthy toilets. Does that make me less qualified to opine on Norjack?

I've spoken with Galen and he is a smart guy... too smart to disparage Blevins for being, among other things, a house cleaner.

I don't think a production company cares if you hold a sign on the corner begging for money. they just want information you have at that given moment. Robert doesn't own either business he promotes. I go after his story....now, for some reason people side with Robert even though he personally attacks people, and allows his moderator to do the same. he has tried to discredit this forum ever since it started. then he posted Georger's phone number, that's not hatred?

I told him a month ago it needs to stop. Robert seems to strive on attention. he's not going to change from what he is. Georger, and Robert have had issues since day one. the rest began when problems were found with certain things related to KC. he has an issue with some of the findings, but again, it is what it is.

Robert, Jo, and Marla share a common response. they all tell us we don't want to find the truth, or we have an agenda but the truth is all 3 of them can't be right, can they...this is why I don't try and favor a suspect. you tend to back away from known evidence, or try and change the description trying to put a square peg in a round hole etc. etc. not everyone does this....

Remember Jo trying to say she thinks she knows one of the Anglins? it's turning out they have been in Brazil, so once again who's looking for the truth? your head gets all cloudy, and stopped up trying desperately to link a suspect to something. it's never ending.

I think the point Bruce and others are making is that (a) Blevins lied about his background a number of times, (b) Blevins has demonstrated no background or even raw talent for solving "Unsolved Crimes" nor has he ever solved one single crime of any kind, so far as the world is aware, and (c) Blevins has spent all of his time and talents attacking other people vs developing or even defending his own theory that KC was DB Cooper.

GG has a long history with Mr Blevins personally. I have yet to see GG rise to Blevins defense even once.

Blevins is the greatest-mostest-ever! ?  :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

When will Blevins be replacing you?   :-*

It always comes down to the same thing: does the production company want a soap opera or a documentary on the Cooper case.  Last time I checked Blevins wasn't "DB Cooper", nor was he involved in the case, nor does he know shit about the case! The rest of his contributions are all lies and personal attacks written from a small aparment ("C") at Auburn Washington which he and Gayla advertise as being "G*B Housecleaning of Seattle/Adventure Books of Seattle. How Seattle got into the titles God only knows! I guess it just sounds important?  Have I left anything else out?  ;D

But, here we are once again spending our time on Mr. Blevins vs. discussion of the DB Cooper case, which is supposed to be this forum's mandate? Will the real Robert M Blevins please stand up ... and leave !

Soap Operas and documentaries. Quite a choice.

And please remember that shortly before the DZ forum was locked, Blevins repeatedly admitted that he WAS NOT researching D.B. Cooper but only KC.

Scholarly documentaries do not get a lot of viewers. Few viewers=no profit.

There is an art to enhancing facts with drama without comprising accuracy or journalistic integrity. Ken Burns does it pretty well.

I have looked at the flight manuals for both the civil and military version of the 727.

They show no material differences in the hydraulic system or FE panel items related to airstair or door.

Might be variations in special ops modified planes, but nothing shows in the manuals for civil 727-100 series or standard military C-22.

The stairs were used for the purpose of getting people on and off the plane. when they used it in the military, it appears they were removed for anything other than what the stairs were meant for, so changing the hydraulics doesn't really make sense?

Agree on your logic, but I'd like to know more about the specs for the govt funded Boeing 727 airdrop flight tests. Maybe they wanted to be able to jump from ANY 727, not just one with the stair removed.

where would the modifications take place? they liked the option of a quick change from passenger to cargo...

I agree. Perhaps one day Ken Burns will visit Cooper World. I would love to be his Shelby Foote in the "Civil War" version of Norjak. Nor only did 40 million Americans watch the PBS broadcast, Shelby received numerous marriage proposals. (Just sayin'...)

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Boeing didn't have a civilian version of the 727 which could be changed from an all passenger configuration to an all cargo configuration in just a few hours.  But depending on the specific requirements, maybe it was a permanent half-passenger and half-cargo set up.

Airliners come in many different configurations.
