I have spent the last few hours searching this forum for comments on the 5 letters received after the hijacking. My feeling is that the first 4 (core four) letters are bogus. The tone of the letters doesn't sound like what we know about Dan Cooper, and the fact that some are handwritten and others cut and pasted from magazines doesn't make sense either. As we know, Dan wouldn't even leave his "Miss, I have a bomb" note oon the airplane. However ... the fifth letter, type-written, is a whole different ballgame. The tone is completely different than the others. It's also the last letter received. I think this one MIGHT be legitimate. It's well-written and fits with what we know of the case. I think Dan Cooper wore a disguise of sorts (contacts, dyed hair, borrowed clothes) and I think he may very well have been dying. Tina said he was a very sad man. Do we know if the saliva from the stamp has been tested? Or did the FBI lose this too?
