FLYJACK You say: "Just rec'd in the mail my first Tintin mag from 1970 with "l'affaire minos" the Dan Cooper story highlighted by the FBI that takes place in Greece. Only the last two pages of the story are in it, turns out the story is spread out over 17 Tintin mags. I have ordered them all to compare to the later versions.."
I say: "I think you are on to something with the Dan Cooper mags. How many sports skydivers in the 1960 - 1970's saw the comicbooks"? Peterson would have been able to read them in French as he had some practice as an English major at the U of Mo and had to take another language. I could speak a little French with him in the month he lived at my home. I tried to send you a photo of Sheridan dress exactly like DB and before Norjak and the photo was from the Boeing news files. He also did some demo jumps dressed just like DB including the loafer shoes. I would post the photo here but the file size is too big and I don't know how to reduce it.

So, the stand alone Dan Cooper comics were published after the hijacking, the infamous FBI's "L'affaire Minos" was actually in the French Tintin series spread through 1970.. not really available in the US. So, I don't think the hijacker was a "Dan Cooper" fan per se, but may have been influenced by the story exposed in Tintin. He would have had to have read Tinitin in 1970, Dan Cooper was a small part of that mag. If there is a connection it would have to be through exposure to ALL 18 of the 1970 Tintin mags for the full story.
Sailshaw, If you send me the pic I can resize it..
