"WWII surplus chute prepped as surplus chutes were that somebody bought or was given and was using as a "cover" for farm equipment etc."

Although marketed as car and equipment covers, surplus nylon parachutes were actually terrible choices for such use. They deteriorate RAPIDLY when left in the sun. A couple of months in summer sun and the fabric literally starts falling apart. We used some old C9 canopy as sun covers for seating areas at a DZ in the late 60s. In a few months they were self shredding in light winds.

I wish I could examine the riser ends or even the riser connector links of the Amboy canopy if they are still attached to the suspension lines. It would tell me a lot.

... but nobody has been screaming coverup, or let me look at the chute. it also turned out not being Coopers......my guess it that chutes are all over Washington. nobody even knows if the chute was there for months, days, or years.....so the stories of the condition can only be spoken about if the time in the ground was known..

1. You want screamin'? I can do that...
2. There is a lot of stuff out in the woods. The Mountain News has a dedicated Norjaker who used to work for the AF as a junk collector and crash investigator. His name is Dick Thurston and he says he found a section of a cockpit from a B-57 that no one knew was missing or crashed. Wow.

Hard to believe if it was a USAF owned plane. They have tight inventory control and accident records.

There were a couple of civvie surplus B 57s (actually the very similar UK Canberra) operated in the NW.

Two British-built Canberras are registered to High Altitude Mapping Missions, Inc. of Spokane, Washington.[173][174] These are N30UP, a Canberra B(I)8/B.2/6, originally operated as WT327,[175] and N40UP, a Canberra B6, originally operated as XH567.[176]

Maybe one of them accidentally shed a cockpit canopy and no FAA accident report was filed?

What exactly did he find?

With the new show coming out with a new suspect, I think if it's not proven to be Cooper that shows should stay away from suspects. most of the shows in the past always surround the suspects. hardcore investigative tactics need to be used. a lot of the public is not aware of the actual case, so many myths flying around that give them false conclusions.

I gave them lots of information, and possibilities for production. whether they use them is not up to me. I would like to start knocking down some evidence, one in particular is the dredge theory. discussing things helps the case, but nothing beats actually testing a theory. the jump would be pretty cool, but it has been done before, I believe a documentary did one at night, but not from a 727. then we have dozens of skydivers jumping out of the back of a 727, and of course the video from Asia showing static line jumps from the back of a 727. it has been proven in other hijackings that it's a survivable jump.

Tena bar should be a focus point IMO. trying to figure out how the money arrived is critical to the case. the known flight being so far away causes lots of confusion. the possibility of the timing of the jump is always in question, I believe Agent Carr goes as far as 8:20. it only takes a couple minutes off to be right around the Columbia river. we know the plane crossed it somewhere, and the money was found downstream from it.

R99's theory makes a lot of sense too, so this needs attention as well. some of these things might be boring to some, but it's part of investigating things. you have to have an open mind, regardless to what the FBI has claimed in the past. people make mistakes on a daily basis, I see no reason that error's could be involved with this case as well.

There are a lot of practical experiments to be done on this case.

I've done a couple of night jumps. It's a requirement for the USPA D license.

Night jumps are kinda scary. I always worried about having a canopy malfunction on a night jump and not being able to clearly see what the problems is. Also if I had to land off the DZ, I worried about being unable to spot hazards, especially power lines. It's also harder to judge your landing approach and flare at night, fewer visual cues.

Once I did what was required for my license, I had no interest in making further night jumps. Too many risks and, for me at least, the rewards were minimal.

Probably a lot of that was Cooper's thoughts  O0

This was the first time I had ever seen a night-time jump. It looks downright daunting.
